re: Scream 7 trailer #1

Yeah I watched it again and heard that.
I'd hate a Scream movie where you aren't guessing who the killer is up until the very end. Would defeat the entire mystery of Ghost Face. Since it appears a portion of it takes place in Stu's family house where the first movie ended, you'd think he or a family member is going to have a huge role.

I hated Scream 4 making Sydney's cousin, Jill, jealous of her fame and kills off her own mother to accomplish it.

That actually looks pretty good, but it feels like they showed WAY too much in the trailer.
I thought Scream 4 was decent until the killer reveal at the end, and then I borderline hated it. So I haven't watched 5 or 6...are those worth watching? Or do y'all think I would need to watch those before watching this new one?

Nah, i think this looked at one little small part of this movie without telling you what the overall story is. I think there will still be a lot to be surprised about.
I think you should definitely watch 5 and 6. 7 is the start of a new trilogy and they are ending the storyline from 5 and 6 but it will still have existed so there will be things that happen in those and people from those that were new that will be in this movie. They have their faults but there is still some very good stuff in there and both of them have really good openings

Ugh...I guess I'll have to check them out then. I hope they're streaming these days.

In. I’m a sucker for anything Scream. I like how this version of Ghostface seems to give zero fricks.

5 was a pretty solid sequel, bringing in some fresh faces while still able to bring in the OGs. 6 was good for what it was until the end where it kind fell apart for me with the killer reveal.
I plan on watching this one but am worried it's going to be nothing but nostalgia bait especially with the sisters gone and the announcements of so many returning originals. Could be solid or could be warning signs of a movie that's relying on nostalgia rather than a good story

Joel McHale is playing Mark Evans, he is a cop and Sidney's husband

Haven’t watched the trailer but someone could be using the ghosts of Sydney’s past to torment her and throw red herrings out there until faces off with someone familiar or completely new. So many ways they can go with this franchise.

I haven't seen any screams other than the first one but watched the trailer in the op. Why does Ghost face still have some obsession with Neve campbell? Like I get probably the first two or even three screams how she is involved and how people may hate her to the point of wanting to kill her, but now in addition 7 how in the world has the killer not moved on? Like let it go already dude

Well every movie is a different person as Ghostface and has a different reason. Plus she isn't in the 6th movie.

This would probably be my list as well as of now. I’ve only seen 6 once, though. I may put 3 and 6 on the same tier, and maybe on some days I’d put 4 above 2.
Scream 4 was to the social media/influencer age what the original was to the budding cellular age.
On topic, that trailer looks pretty good.
