It did horror proud. I was glad they didn't sugar coat shite because this was going to be a high profile movie.

This. Almost ruined the movie for me. But thankfully just about everything else is really well done.

Overall, a worthy sequel. One thing I always enjoyed about these movies...even without Michael, Haddonfield is a town I would love to spend Halloween in. It just oozes halloween on every corner.

went and saw it last night thought it was great!! I personally loved the opening scene the tense moment when everyone is going crazy in that courtyard from them feeling the evil coming out if Michael, Music was fantastic really took me back, the doctor was a bit out there but i understand why they did it, loved when he killed the kid that moment made me go oh s--- and i was surprised that they showed so much detail of unmasked Myers thought for a second that we for sure would see his face. solid 8.5/10 for me

I kind of liked the doctor. I figured early on he was going to help Michael. It brought me back to scenes of Halloween 5 and 6 with the man in black helping Michael. Keep in mind this doctor built a relationship with Michael for a very long time after Loomis died.

Also to clarify one other note, Nick Castle only played Michael in the one scene where he was in the window the first time Laurie saw him.

Just got back from watching it, what a damn strong Halloween. There are so many little Easter eggs it’s ridiculous and I was smiling several times as I caught them.

My own personal opinion in the doctor is that they had to kill him. Loomis was pretty beloved in the series and was a good guy set on killing Michael. When Laurie sees the new doctor she says “your the new Loomis” which everyone knows is clearly the opposite. The desire the experience Michael in the Wild was kind of weird, but it worked in the end...

The more I think about the Dr. in the new movie the more I see the connections to Halloween 5 and 6 and the man in black(Dr. Wynn). They even named him Sartain and the druid story line in 5 and 6 revolved around Samhain and the curse of thorn. Also I think he probably played a big part in helping Michael escape the bus. In the directors cut of Halloween 6 Michael turned on the thorn cult and killed them all just like he did Dr. Sartain in this movie. Dr. Wynn was also a Dr. At Smith's Grove just like Dr. Sartain.

you get a quick glimpse of it when he pulls up at the gas station in the bronco. the camera is on the podcaster girl getting out of her car but if you pay attention and catch it just right, you see him and his white beard.

Watching Halloween the other night with my daughter. She asks "Dad, why cant Michael die? They shoot him a lot and he keeps living"

I didnt have an answer other than "Because"
I did tell her he's supposed to be the personification of evil. Not sure if she got it or not

Those scenes were brilliant. Especially the one where he's offing someone in the background while she's asking where the bathroom is.

Probably my main issue. If she was as obsessed with killing him as she's presented she's going out with him like Loomis did at the end of Halloween 2.

It was a lot like the original. Not too cheesy, but the little kid had some hilarious lines.

Michael was terrifying. Each person he saw, he went in for the kill easily. No real struggle as most were unexpected.

I thought the movie focused too much on Laurie Strode, but her house was badass.

The doctor was awful. For a second I thought Michael Myers legacy would carry on through the doctor when Michael was run over and he put on his mask. He seemed a little too obsessed either Meyers.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie

I could see them doing this. And maybe having the story focus on her daughter and grand daughter in future movies.

But I can also see the other side. She will now have the opportunity to establish a good relationship with her daughter. Plus, she'll be in sequels.

But either way would have worked for me.

I think part of the narrative with her is to realize that her obsession, while it may have saved them, it ruined her relationship with her daughter. In future movies, her character will probably realize this and not be as obsessed with Michael Myers and focus on her life. If she would have given her life for her obsession, then it would ruin the opportunity to do this with her character.

I just don’t see how they keep Michael alive in this arch

They seemed to be wanting to make this “more realistic” than every movie that followed the first. The guy is dead now if you want to roll with the feel and boundaries this movie held
