do I have to even finish the sentence? I'll watch anything he's in.

I worked with a guy early in my career that was the spitting image of Elliot as far as character and mannerisms. I told him he reminded me of Sam Elliot and his response was, with a smirk, "I don't know Sam Elliot, but he sounds like a pretentious douche." I think he knew who he was and I wasn't the first one to make the comparison.

I'm watching 1883 so that's why its top of mind.

I know nothing about him. I like the roles he portrays in films though. Did he kill somebody?

A shame, but following the Tommy Lee Jones and Tim Robbins school of humanity. Never interacted or been around Elliot.

Given how this year has started, your thread title scared the shite out of me.

One of my favorite actors. Wish him and Harrison Ford would have done some westerns or civil war movies together.

It’s kinda funny that the role closest to his real life persona was Ron Dunn on Parks and Rec

He usually plays good guys, but he can play the bad guy too. He was a real a-hole in 1998's The Hi-Lo Country.

Patricia Arquette has never looked sexier than she looks in this movie. It may have just been the clothes, but she looked like she had more meat on her bones.

That's one of Woody Woody Harrelson's best roles. He and Billy Crudup's relationship is oddly realistic.

Since he is apparently a jerk, will someone give an example? I've never heard this before.

Fun fact: without his mustache, Sam Elliott is just a retired high school coach who's been at the bar too long

Not meant as a knock, but rather, a compliment. Sam Elliot's been basically the same character for 40 years. It's amazing.

Quick google search led me to an article that stated he did a campaign ad for Biden. Never saw it though.

As probably 95% of Hollywood did. Continuously amazed at how people don't realize that their favorite actors /actresses / court jesters have values usually and totally in conflict with their own. Carry on.
