I can't believe no one has mentioned
1. When Neil (Frogurt) was killed by a flaming arrow.
or
2. When Artz blew up.

Jin and Sun dying got the lump in my throat.
Then when it shows Hurley, Kate and Jack out on the beach and Hurley asks "where's Jin and Sun?" Hurley and Kate bust into tears and then Jack walks out to the beach and cries. O man, sad stuff right there.
I could be wrong, but that was the only time I remember Jack crying on the island.

I think Mr. Eko being killed was more upsetting than sad but it deserves mention.
Locke's entire story was also pretty saddening especially when we found out his own father used him.

Yeah the only other time I can remember Jack crying is off the Island in "Through the Looking Glass". The scene you mentioned is one of my favorites. Subtle but powerful. Only qualm is they should have ended the episode on that note, instead of going back to MIB. The end should have been "Holy shite, they've all died", not a "Holly shite, MIB is coming to frick them up!"

Lost is a rip-off of Gilligan's Island

I don't think I can ever be as vested emotionally in a television program again as I was in Lost.
i'm so glad i decided to watch that first episode. the only reason i tuned in was for the scenery

I'd have to agree (only show that comes close for me is Mad Men). LINK I'd have to say when Jack finds out that his first wife is leaving him made me sad. Also, when charlie dies makes me cry everytime i see it.
Also, the flashbacks to Jack & Christian Shephard always put me on edge for some reason.
Seeing all of these LOST threads has made me consider rewatching the entire series again.

We should all rewatch the entire series, one episode a week and post our theories on what we think will happen.

Jack and Vincent was easily the saddest moment for me. I had to strongly fight the urge to cry like a baby
eta: I also think Vincent got screwed by not being in the church at the end. Don't all dogs go to heaven?

Sawyer and Juliet "connecting" by the vending machine in purgatory. The build-up was incredible, and the fact sawyer was such a hard arse in everything, but a softie for Juliet made it.

You lost all legitimacy when we found out you were a Pi Kapp.

I completely agree. The characters, the acting/actors, the music, the writing, the scenery--it was magic.

Anytime you heard those piano notes by Michael Giacchino (you know the ones) I knew we were losing someone.
I think it is called the Life and Death theme.
When Jin and Sun died, I started crying way before it was obvious what was going to happen because i "knew" when I heard those notes.

Vincent and Jack made me cry MAYBE as hard as I've ever cried in my entire life. I'm talking a river of tears flowing, I'll admit it. About 4 or 5 months after the show wrapped I watched the The End again, and even knowing it was coming I still lost my shite bad. I don't think I'll watch that again unless I do a total series rewatch. I don't wanna put myself through that again
Des and Penny's phone call also made me a little misty.
