Then it makes perfect sense that Snoke allowed Kylo to kill him. Snoke knew that his death would forever cement Kylo in the dark side. Now with avatar of darkness (Kylo) and the avatar of light (Rey) he can finally become the prime force user that Luke was so obsessed about.

They need to hit it big with the next movie. Despite all the propaganda, it's pretty clear that the franchise is floundering. There's a bad negative buzz surrounding TLJ, Solo tanked, and they've suddenly decided no more films outside the main story. This is not what the Mouse intended when they bought the rights.
If they CAN come back with a big success, then it only makes sense to follow it pretty quickly.
Without getting too political, somebody better realize what the true target audience is, and write some stories that appeal to that group. The name alone isn't getting it done.

Since the final 2 Harry Potter installments there are always "rumors" the the final installment, in this case of the Skywalker saga, will be split into 2 parts
It was even "rumored" the last jedi would be 2 films.
I wouldn't put much stock in this.

They retconned it out of existence, which is what I'm demanding before paying cash for a new Star Wars film again.
