I always wondered, considering Henry's inability in hit the ball why would he play in the NL? How would he be as a starter in the AL? What type of pitch count would he be on? Would it be a Steven Strasburg type situation?

The only thing about the movie that has bothered me forever is when he's in the laundry room and throws the detergent in the laundry and says, "strike 1!" After saying the count was full.

Watching this as an adult made me realize this movie has the worst collection of Hollywood baseball talent in history. Not a single actor looks like they belong on the baseball field, with the exception of maybe the catcher. Pretty sure the boys from the Sandlot would beat the Cubs in this movie.

I always hated this guy as a kid but think his scenes are hilarious now.

But they looked the part.

Major League is one of my favorite baseball movies, and probably the best as far as actors that looked like ball players. Charile Sheen supposedly hit roids to make him look more authentic.

A fun fact which everyone probably knows: In the penultimate scene where Cerrano jacks a home run after telling Jobu "I'll do it myself", you see Cerrano run the bases holding his bat. Thats because Dennis Haysbert really did hit a homer during that take and was so excited he forgot to drop the bat. His and the crowd's reactions (Who had been told to cheer like Cerrano hit a homerun, only to see Cerrano really hit a homerun) are all 100% genuine.

Yes, except for Tom Berenger. He throws like a girl

And in RotY, Henry balks every time he comes set from the stretch

Random thought, but this is a RotY thread and this is similar...but that's the password to get into Tony's makeshift prison in Heavyweights.

Good call. Just watched this last weekend and thought it would be a funny username whenever I was making one up.

In his defense, he was a bit old and making the league minimum.

Yep. Couldn't hack it in the Mexican leagues anymore.
