They did. Big push for a date movie.
My wife played along and did the under the breath laugh where she knew she shouldn’t be laughing but still did.

It's definitely not a typical superhero film.
Ryan Reynolds is great in everything. Definitely, Maybe is also a great movie to watch with wife

It’s hilarious but very meta with some over the top gore. I highly recommend. The scenes with Leslie Uggams are excellent.

The entire thing worked because Reynolds WAS Deadpool and they had enough protection from the Fox brass to do it right, as opposed to the way they fricked it up in Wolverine Origins that Reynolds loves to take the piss out of.

Some Canadian papers bitched about that joke though I think it lessened a bit when put in context of both Reynolds and the Deadpool character being Canadian.
