They had Do the Right Thing, now Reality Bites, Later Slacker, River's Edge Reckless and Oxford Blues.

They're calling it "Boomer's Suck" Night.

I don’t understand why they call it that.

No Singles, no care.
Reality Bites is fluff.

I'm guessing that if it was said it was a tongue in cheek comment by the presenting host. I haven't seen any promotion for a "Boomers Suck" night on TCM.

Some people claim Easy Rider as the first Boomer movie. Even though The Graduate came out a year prior, spoke to a broader swath of the generation, and made a bigger impact on popular culture.

Stiller had his quirk meter set to 11 for Reality Bites, so it was flashier and gets more of the credit.

OP used the possessive form - Boomer’s

I was wondering if the host was Mr Esiason. But I’m probably overthinking it.

I consider Reality Bytes as the coming of age BoomerX slop.

Not knocking it's place in time, but it's reminiscent of a definite certain type of yuppie filmmaking.

Love this movie and soundtrack

Has nothing to do with the Boomer generation tho.

Maybe the youngest boomer were in their 30’s in 1994

I love 90’s style. So hipster!!

It’s hard for me to be objective on Reality Bites because of the time and place where it was filmed, but parts of it seem more documentary than fiction for that era.

No one on TCM said that. I just made it up because I'm a Boomer that reads the OT Board. I just assumed we get the blame for ruining life in America.

ETA:
I kind of thought the people that like Reality Bites and Slacker think that way.

Reality Bites and Singles are both quintessential Gen X.

That doesn’t make sense. I want TCM so I can watch mostly black and white old arse movies.

We are getting older. We are the classics now.

That’s why TCM wasn’t showing our parents and grandparents silent films.

Exactly. Movies like Reality Bites and Slacker aren't most Boomers cup of tea, Some of the people that think these movies are great blame the decline of American society on us Boomers. On the OT Board they are ready to retire us all on reduced Social Security benefits. I'm sure some folks from younger generations wish we'd all just die.
