The bridge wreck is so stupid. She doesn’t need to be flooring it, why would she? At first I thought he meant there was a curve in the road coming only locals knew about it but no she just wrecks for no reason. Also the drive by while they’re parked, why keep going? Drive up to their car and unload but they drive by, turn around 30 feet past just so the good guys have time to get in the car. WTF is going on in this episode, every scene is like this. The CIA guy is going to hang Reacher in his cell? How? HTF is he going to do that? He’s gonna drill a hook into the ceiling, produce a rope then hold Reacher with one arm while hooking the around his neck with the other at about 10-12 feet off the ground?

Also, Reacher should’ve locked Jacob in a closet a couple episodes ago. Dude is getting to be insufferable and whiney.

In the book the photo on the drive was the senator with Bin Laden and there was an Al Qaeda angle. That has been changed for the show.
This was a good book but having read it ruined the twist that the women were the bad guys. The show got there pretty quick.

It's just bad writing.
The writing of police procedures ... sure, we're just going to let IronBack drive off in a PT Cruiser with a potential multi-murderer from a crime scene because "reasons" ...
Characters appear when they need to have conflict ...
The Indonesian Mary Sues find Mayberry and IronBack ... chase them through neighborhoods shooting an AK and then jump in a rushing river, fully clothed ... only to appear later to kill someone on a public street and steal his car ...
Later/end... Mayberry cop gets captured by the Indonesian Mary Sues who just happen to go to the restaurant cause we have to assume Mayberry cop went after them (how did he find them?) and told them that's where Reacher would be?
It's just lazy exposition with fight scenes ...

Not sure what the crap episode 4 was about but I feel like they got right back on track in episode 5.

If by getting "back on track" you mean it was better than episode 4, I agree, but it wasn't a lot better than 4.
It's been too long since I read the book to remember it accurately, but they seem to be changing the story to include more sidekick action. It's a mistake.

That sounds right. They changed the setting to Philly vs NY, probably because it's cheaper to film there, but that's meaningless. I just keep seeing parts and thinking "I don't remember that in the book" and it usually centers around the Scooby Gang.
"Hey, here's some successful source material, let's apply our genius to it and change it" seems to be a recurring theme in that world.

It is entirely possible that I am overstating its quality due to the dog crap that episode 4 was. But I watched episode 5 to make a verdict on whether I would stick it out, and it at least achieved that goal.
How do they get out of this cliffhanger? One of the executioners being a plant by a benevolent group is about the only possibility I see at this point. I don't see how he brute forces it this time.

Hell, I watched all of Season 2, mainly because I've read a lot of the books and I'm too curious not to finish a season. If this one had opened with episode 4 I might have checked out already, but so far it hasn't tanked so badly that I'll drop it.
Even though I still find it worth watching I will criticize it. And it appears to be a safe one to criticize; nobody's going full "Leave Reacher Alone!!!!!" like they do some shows.

Same way they all magically dodge thousands of bullets from hundreds of professional mercenaries that can only hit targets if the target isn't needed for the plot.
I just wish they'd stop bending over backwards to try and make boss queen look irreplaceable.
This is what the 10th time big brother has done something irredeemably stupid that fricks over the group... despite them saying 8 frickups ago " we need to cut him loose if he csnt control himself".
