Started reading a few months ago. Now halfway through dragons. Does that make me post machine Dunham but before I am aware of pre machine Dunham?

Seems like an accurate assessment. You are starting to get feelings for Peter you don't understand.

I'm 2/3 of the way through book 2 and I actually enjoy Sansa's chapters. They're short and a good change of pace from the other story lines. Plus it usually involves showing how big of a count Joffrey is.

I'm enjoying the book but really looking forward to ending and catching up with the series so I can get new material.

Slightly off topic, in book 2, does Arya ever steward for Tywin or was that just added in the show. I've been rewatching episodes as I read the books and Tywin takes Arya to himself right after he gets in Harrenhal. In the books she's been working for that other guy.

No. But I liked that change because those were great scenes.

Oh yeah it was a good move for the show. I'm disappointed I don't get to read about it though.

I just started re-reading two days ago.

I'm much more sympathetic to Sansa this go round.

Her character represents the gap between Prince Charming version of medieval times versus the harsh reality of it. She's a very good character IMO.

Nailed it.

Sansa is Sansa because that's how she was raised. She's Cat and Ned's perfect daughter, the societal ideal.

I think she's a fantastic character, and while she annoyed me the first time around, a second read has definitely changed my view.

Library.

And on the re-read, you'll want e-books of Feast and Dance so you can read them in Sean Collins' FeastDance format.

Trust me, you will re-read.

Just finished book one

***SPOILERS***

I'm glad Sansa lost her direwolf. It represents their house and Sansa isn't worthy of having a wolf that represents the Starks.

I have a question about this. I've read the first 3, and part of the 4th. I am re-reading 3 now.

I've heard 4 and 5 can be read together. Is this what you are refering to?

Cool. Would you suggest doing that. I stopped a few chapters in book four from fatigue.

Agreed. My reread cemented my hatred for her. It made me hate Catelyn so much more too. Catelyn really has no redeeming qualities in the books. I was surprised by how much stuff I'd missed.

I enjoy Sansa's chapters too. I think she is rather amusing but you can tell she is undergoing a lot of growth. Plus I enjoy reading about Joffrey being a douche .
