I don't know that it could contend for "best," but when I think of movies I enjoyed seeing the first time, I can't think of any better than Inception. It's one of the rare times where I thought "Damn I wish I could forget I saw this and watch it again."

That's kinda why The Departed is so far down my list. When I first saw it, I was very entertained/impressed. But with multiple viewings now, it just feels less impressive. Weird how that happens.

The Departed isn't even in his top 10.

Also, the guy sucks as a person so that kind of shades my views on his films.

He was good in Django, although the movie as a whole was kinda meh.

Bastards was one of the best Tarantino films because it combined the signature dialogue with some great action... django sorta missed on both compared to that film. Overall though, I still like it.

I'm a little surprised at the love for Shutter Island here.

Considering it's the best film Leo has been in, yeah, you should.

And I agree .. Shutter Island was dog shite.

These are based on his performance, not necessarily the movies themselves.

1. The Aviator
2. The Wolf of Wall Street
3. The Departed
4. Catch Me If You Can
5. Inception
6. Blood Diamond
7. Gangs of New York
8. What's Eating Gilbert Grape
9. Titanic
10. Shutter Island

He was good... but the movie was shite, IMO. There was so much more to Howard Hughes.

I disagree with the movie being shite. It's not my favorite movie but it's still a good one IMO. I thought it was very well made and Leo's performance should have netted him an Oscar.

I don't think it should have gone to Jamie Foxx either. I would have liked to see Cheadle get it for Hotel Rwanda. But that was Leo's best chance to win it, for sure.
