seems like they understand the youth demographic driving their subscription. this seems like a match made in heaven to bring a very high visibility show back. I don't think any traditional network would do it.

thoughts? has anyone discussed this before?

If we get anything it'll be a "Brown Coat" show and reference the old show and movie with maybe cameos from other characters.. but not actually be about the firefly crew.

i could see this.

other original characters could come in and out of the show as their schedules allowed.

this could be a 'civil war ii' against the alliance as the people who saw Miranda were re-energized to fight.

there could be a lot of good stuff; the universe whedon created is ripe for a 'clone wars' style drama.

eta build it up for a couple seasons then book Mal coming back into the show (and maybe Jane) when the real action starts

i could see them getting 2 or 3 actors together.

I could see a "brown coat" thing too. Wouldn't a new show require a pretty decent startup budget though (for sets, costumes, etc)?

A) Fillion at best can make cameo appearances for as far into the foreseeable future as you can think.. Castle has been a monster in the ratings for ABC, for extremely good reasons mind you, probably the best procedural show on TV right now.

B) Jane could show up, Baldwin has always been the more niche actor when it comes to the firefly crew.

C) Glau would probably play a key in it all.. but goodness gracious I don't want her to show up in anything I watch anymore!!!

D) Inara would be dead by now.. Book is dead.. Wash is dead.. gah, it would be so sad

I take it you didn't watch the 10 year reunion special?!

Go watch the show again sometime.. this time around, know that Inara has terminal cancer and is going to die soon.

Joss Whedon is booked up working for Marvel for at least another three years. Fillion won't be available until Castle ends.

The most likely continuation of Firefly would be another movie, but even that seems really far-fetched.

It's time to let go.

I say no mainly because they killed off Walsh in the movie. It wouldn't be the same without him.

pretty much this, anyone that has ever gotten their hopes up about anything firefly over the last 5 years.. has pretty much been let down over and over again.
