It is terrific. I’d say more along the lines of godfather than Sopranos personally

I wasnt likening it to the Sopranos. OP just stated that the Sopranos was his favorite tv show and my point was that if he liked that one, he would probably like Peaky Blinders. Its the same dark crime family theme.

When they introduce the character Alfie Solomon played by Tom Hardy, prepare to watch Hardy steal every scene he is in. The scenes with Murphy and Hardy are my favorites.

It’s a great show. Writing isn’t on the level of Sopranos but no show really is.

But acting is good and it’s a really good show with solid writing

Same until Alfie shows up. Can’t understand a word he says without CC.

The scene between Tommy and Alfie about Tommy’s son being kidnapped is superb acting. Hardy did so well in that scene you can see the astonishment in Murphys face

“You crossed the line Alfie”

“Fookin wot mate?”

This. Peaky Blinders doesn’t have the comedy of Sopranos

My favorite show of all time is the Sopranos. How similar is Peaky Blinders to Sopranos, and another show I really enjoyed, Boardwalk Empire?

Watch Peaky until you aren’t interested. I suspect you will watch every episode

Not much obvious comedy, but it does have a fair amount. More than it probably gets credit for.

Been on the Sopranos rewatch and it is absolutely hilarious which I did not really pick up initially. Paulie and Christopher getting lost in the Pine Barrens after the botched hit was high comedy.

I agree with a lot of the comments especially about Allfie being a great character. Loved this show…will be doing a rewatch soon.

It's comparable to the Sopranos as you have an antihero running a crime family, that you really root for. It's really good.

you don't get the full experience if you don't buy a bottle of this before starting the series

I drink bushmills but I haven't made the purchase.

They restrict what states you can buy it.

I'm going to try and find it on vacation.

It's way better too
