I have a question about that movie. For most of the movie, Godzilla is just fighting those 2 things and it's all good and everything. Then it looks like he is about to get dominated and all of a sudden, he sprays this blue stuff out of his mouth and basically wins the fight. I have a 2 part question. 1. Where did that come from?
2. Why did he wait until he was basically about to die before using that finishing move?
So for question 1, at no time in that movie did they ever even hint at him being able to do that. I actually think that is a pretty good idea. However, if we are going to go with that premise, you would certainly think that once he was getting dominated by those 2 things, once he even got a little hurt, he would go to that move. Any help on that is greatly appreciated.

he used his back scales to harness the ambient current in the air and sky and release it out of his mouth.

its like a limit break. gotta take some damage before it is available.

Who would know? They were already reaching with all Ken Watanbe inferred about the monsters.

You don't start off with the special move.

Just go with it, man. Godzilla always gets a pass, unless it's the 1998 version.

I really liked the movie but I did have a beef with the arse kicked then suddenly badasss move.

Although as stated in the Godzilla thread, that is the way all of the older movies progressed.

Zilla is the alpha so even though he was getting beat up, he knew he hadn't even brought out his "A" game.

I would have preferred it they showed Zilla absorbing energy from the Male he killed. Then used the breath weapon after absorbing the excess energy.

Have you never watched any of the old Godzilla movies? His atomic breath is his signature weapon. He's had it in just about every movie that he's in.

He's basically spewing a nuclear blast out of his mouth. I'm guessing that takes a lot out of a person...or creature...or whatever.

I had more of a problem with the "alpha predator" not consuming the energy or eating the fallen bad monsters.
Dude just lays a beat down and heads back home. ..

It's like if Voltron started with the blazing sword everytime... there wouldn't be a show.

Of course if you don't know about the atomic breath, you probably have never heard of Voltron either.

I don't think they said he was an alpha predator. They said he would bring nature in to balance.

Creatures dead = nature in balance = Godzilla goes back to sleep.

That makes sense.
I just thought I heard predator.
I thought they did a fantastic job of making the viewer care for godzirra during his fights

I'm guessing the only other Godzilla movie you've seen is the '98 movie?

The Atomic Breath was scaled back a bit..in some of the movies it is more of a ray. The MUTO's would have been blown away a lot earlier in Godzilla Final Wars for example the weapon had a lot more punch.

No, they did call him an alpha predator. That's why he was "hunting" the other two creatures, which they even called his "prey" even though he apparently didn't want or need to eat them.
