If you are equating capitalism and democracy then I suppose.
But the two things are different and often at odds. The Founders had some insight into this. Too few people read JS Mill to understand the need for all rights to be balanced by other rights.

Just finished the documentary last night. Very surreal to see what happened on January 6th up close and personal. Makes me very concerned about the future of our democracy.

for a while, i was wondering what Chicken's deal was with keeping up the board so long. i later realized he was doing that for a reason because he was dealing with legit crazy people.
I was disappointed in the results of the election, and i'm fine being branded as crazy for thinking the election as a whole wasn't on the up and up... that being said, it was obviously over by middle of November and no amount of conspiracy/Q/storm coming was going to reverse that. i'm a casual poster on politics board but when all the Q/Sydney Powell stuff started being every thread, i stayed away for a bit.
Chicken did the right thing by keeping it all there and deleting it forever.

like someone else pointed out, one of the admins got taken into the storm. they did nothing to try and make those boards sensible again and let the crazy breed.

i think Chicken was just trying to let the crazies have that time to deal with their loss and have it not spill into the other boards. probably the wrong call being that politics spills into every board today except maybe the health, home/garden, and outdoor boards.

I think someone else started it for sure.. Then Ron took over. There's a point in the doc that shows the change in style and people were calling him out on it..
I think there's a fundamental difference in the way people want this country run... And anytime you have that folks will latch on to whatever they can to damage/demonize/destroy the other side because they don't agree with their principles.
It can happen again tomorrow. Or at least start.
