My gf told me that he was in handmaid's tale. Did he talk/act like that in that show?
I just watched a video of him to see if that's how he talks and it is not.
So it was a character decision to talk like a monotone muttering idiot.

Watched the 1st 4 episodes last. I'm enjoying it as I like these type of shows.
I think it's to obvious the lackey lawyer did it? But that is my lean.
I also want to punch the new DA every time he speaks. Also the medical dude that keeps yelling "I'm a medical doctor, you will respect me" while calling everyone scumbags and dickheads haha

I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I did read the spoiler about who was the murderer from the movie in this thread. So spoilers below as far as that and my theory...
The spoiler was that it was the wife in the movie. That's the main person I assumed it would be. It generally comes down to whether the prosecutor did it or not. Knowing the history of the cases it's logical he has the knowledge to pull this off. But being that it's Jake Gyllenhaall I would think it's less likely he did it.
Seeing as how his wife knew about the first affair and would have some access to any files he brings home, it's a logical jump to think she knew about the rekindled affair and set the murder up to look like an old case. It seems she still loves him which is why she stays, so murdering the competition is very plausible. Plus the actress is a fairly big name for a TV show so it leads me to believe her part would be juicy.
I would love if it was Skaarsgard because I truly hate the character. There was a little hint in the last episode that he may have been interested in the victim but it was fairly subtle so I may be reading too much into it.
Overall we're enjoying the show. Like others have said I don't think murder trials happen before almost any investigations but it's a TV show and I can live with it.

NO ORIGINAL SHOW SPOILER PLEASE!!!
As someone who’s never seen the original show, this show fricking rules. Good on Apple for remembering how good tv is made. Each week we get a new episode, always with a cliffhanger
Love this show. The fat attorney who had the heart attack was the fricking man, love watch him smoking the smug bitter other attorney who probably did it he was so jealous Rusty was nailing the girl he clearly wanted to be with

Great! That lady judge is brilliant.
I’m just scared they are going to leave it open ended and make us guess who did it.

I like it too, but it is slightly frustrating the things they are doing that in no way would happen in a real case like this.
I mean both sides are so staunchly against doing any type of extra work about looking into someone else.
Prosecutor: NO, WE WILL NO LOOK AT OTHER POSSIBILITIES WE WILL SINGLE ONE PERSON OUT AND PROSECUTE HIM RIGHT AWAY
Defense: NO, WE WILL NOT TRY AND MAKE IT SEEM LIKE SOMEONE ELSE KILLED THIS WOMAN WE WILL JUST TELL THEM RUSTY DIDNT DO IT
I mean where are the police? Literally no investigation happened. The biggest thing that the prosecutors have is that there was DNA under her fingernails. DNA of the guy who was screwing her! Of course she has his DNA on her. The biggest thing you have against him doesn't help your case at all.
Then when the defense makes a good point Rusty just smirks, smiles, or laughs. I mean a lawyer would have pimped slapped him if he did that one time, that's like lesson #1, don't react to the stuff being presented, it'll make the jury hate you.
I'm enjoying it, and the cliffhangers at the end of each episode are really well done, but it's kind of distracting just how unrealistic the whole case is.
