Popeye the Sailor Man Live-Action Film in Development

Directed by Robert Altman and co-starring Shelley Duvall as the sailor’s quirky love interest Olive Oyl, the film was panned upon release but has since gained cult status and critical reconsideration. It was also profitable, released by Paramount Pictures at a $20 million budget before grossing roughly $60 million worldwide.

The Robin Williams version cannot be topped. They will never find more perfect actors to play those parts.

Olive Oyl will weigh 190lbs because body shaming bad image and such.
She will also be racially ambiguous and the fake media will make up narratives about how she is supposed to southern Italian and they were all Moorish.
Popeye will also be a weak nincompoop for 90% of the film and Olive Oyl will be the hero tat finally bests Bluto.
Bluto however, will be a strapping white male with extreme 'rapey' vibes.
It will also be full of shite CGI and lose $100M.

I actually watched a trailer for Popeye the Sailorman Foxstar this weekend.
That sent me down a rabbit hole about the actual Popeye. He was a pretty interesting character.
Apparently Olive Oyl was based on a real person too and looked a lot like the cartoon.
