All anyone wants is good, developed characters with a good plot.

No. One. Gives. A. shite. What. They. Look. Like. Or. Their. Genders.

A movie about fish can gross almost a billion dollars ffs.

Sci-fi and comic book fans generally have no problem with strong female characters. Some even seem to have a fetish for such.

Man I hope they net neutralize your mom's basements so we can keep y'all's hateful drivel off the internet.

Y'all need to grow up.

But I really liked the movie, so I guess I'm a feminist now?

Ummmm Aliens was a direct sequel to Alien, in which the only survivor was a fricking cat and Ripley.

Aliens was tGOAT imo.

In fact, TLJ should have borrowed tones of this movie and how to integrate a female lead.

Ripley never let go of her natural desire to nurture (She lost her daughter due to being out and space and projected this nurture to Newt.)

Ripley also shared the screen with Cpl. Hicks when shite got real. (aka the last half of the movie)

That's what made Aliens great. Ripley never denied her natural tendencies (motherhood, womanhood).

edit: I am sure you are being facetious about the whole SJW shite. Aliens were far from SJW.

she's large and in charge, but she doesn't stop being a woman. I agree very much with the "nurturing"

like I said, the movie is rife with subtext. aliens isn't an SJW movie, yet it has all the stuff progs claim to like about this movie. also interesting is they seem to think the last jedi is original in this regard. aliens is 31 years old.

Fair enough .

I want to also point out the massive differences in diaglogue between Aliens and TLJ.

Aliens has two iconic phrases that people still remember today.

TLJ, well I can't remember hardly anything worth parroting.

It's like TLJ is some movie that pretends to be SW without a SW soul.

Didn't they put a dude on the cover cause he wanted to be a lady and his stepdaughter was a whore? I hope you won't mind if a take a grain of salt with the information you provided.

I honestly have never thought about the man-suppressing aspects of Aliens, until years after I saw it. Even with that knowledge, I see it as a great movie and character made iconic by a great actress, not a feminist activism film series.

Although, I did humorously notice in the third one (which I enjoyed and featured junkie Tywin Lannister) that the only man she can't dominate is the black guy, and the rest are basically bald eunuchs.

The fourth one was some kind of lesbian fantasy porn, without the porn. We will not speak of it.

Movies like TLJ and Ghostbusters attempt to shoehorn otherwise pointless political bullshite into an established world and narrative. At least Alien was its own universe, and even if the makers of that series were or are the worst kind of man-hating psycho-dykes, those films (mostly) were done very well.

These are just flat out propaganda pablum, and again, ironic seeing as how Disney is a den of creepy, fuzzy sex offenders.

The point is you’d be hard pressed to find sci fi/fantasy geeks who hate aliens

So writing off their dislike of the last Jedi as being rooted in misogyny is pathetic

I don't have a problem with female characters but the thing is that they have to be characters first and foremost and women lastly and never.

Rey is a character first and she's someone that we're all emotionally invested in as she's wholesome, fights for good and doesn't complain much.

People like chubby asian Rose and purple hair lesbo Holdo are annoying asswipes that throw their vagina in our faces while bitching about everything and they can frick right off.

That’s the other thing. No one has criticized Daisy Ridley in the movie, she’s the only reason it’s not one of the worst movies ever made

Yep.

When the script read out loud that Rey is not going to be a factor in the finale of the movie while spending 40 pointless minutes on SJW crap on a different planet that does nothing to advance the plot, it should've been thrown out right there.

frick Rian Johnson. I hope his wife enjoys fricking him with the strap on.

Eh, if she plays her cards right, she could be one of the most versatile actors we will ever see in Hollywood history.

Will be a good change of pace from one trick pony actors.
