Tommy didn’t care about his brother marrying the whore. He just needed him to marry to iron out the pack with the Lees. So he sabotaged that to make the Lee marriage happen.
He also didn’t care to marry Lizzie, but with another kid on the way and a political campaign ahead, he needed it to be done to show stability in his household while also being able to run his illegitimate business without his wife interfering. If it weren’t for the second part of that he could’ve married Jessie Eden. But she would’ve been a major thorn in his side for obvious reasons.
He’s pragmatic. Simple as that.

the fascist?
I know he was a good guy but he reminds me of Michael Fassbenders characters in Inglorious Bastards. They talk identical.

A lot has transpired with Lizzie since the initial proposal by John. She became Tommy's secretary to get her out of that life, then once Grace was killed and Tommy had such a difficult mourning she was the one that brought him through it...physically at first then it became emotional for both. Once he got her pregnant it was more a natural transition to true love. He really feels something for her as evidenced by his vitriolic comments toward Oswald if he "lays a finger on her".

Yeah Liszt became a new woman and essentially what Linda was to Authur. I think he became in love with her loyalty to him and how he could always count on her when he was betrayed left and right.

Question. Did anyone notice the chick that the fascist was banging before the rally had the same hairstyle as Michael's American wife?
I think so. My wife called that when she was eye fricking him at the ballet...

If it is Michael that betrayed the family. Does Pol chose her son or the peeky blinders. Mind you that would mean that Michael got her husband killed and tried to kill off pretty much her whole family sans ada.
I think it was Michael. “Plan B”. And real or not, polly has not been wrong with her premonitions. She said there would be a war between the two and that one does.

Why not May who seemed to completely understand who he was and what he did and accept it anyway. Also has a massive amount of money.
I guess I'm just not a fan of Lizzie, especially over Grace and May.

She knew who he was but had no actual grasp of what he actually did and didn’t want to. She was along for the ride with a gangster. They both knew it wasn’t built to last.

I don't understand why Brilliant Chang felt he had to send an associate to put a gun to Finn's head while he talked business with Tommy and Arthur.
Chang knew the Shelby's had lost big in the crash and would be open to the deal he was proposing. Threatening Finn in that manner was a risk that did not have to be taken.

I couldn’t get into Peaky Binders, should I give it another try?

Yes! It’s a slow burn but it’s incredible once you get hooked.

Hmm. She did seem to have a fascination action with ‘dukes’ at Tommy’s ballet party. And that glance was never explained.

I think it’s her after the look they exchanged at the ballet.
Also, I’m curious who her family is. In the meeting in which Michael dropped his “proposal” he mentions her family knows how to handle “that kind of business” when referring to moving the heroin. She’s definitely more savvy than some NY coke whore.

I also can't figure out who could have known and/or talked about what Thomas's plan was. Who killed Aberama and attempted to kill Arthur? Who killed Barney? Was it Michael and his coont American wife? Did the guy Finn told about "shooting a fascist" make that call to someone we already know? Did the Billy Boys betray Thomas and break the truce?
Just finished season 5, wow, what an amazing season and a cliffhanger.
And I have a crackpot theory on all this...
The man behind the man behind the curtain is someone that’s been there all along.
Winston Churchill.

great season as always, but I'm not a big fan of them leaving it on a cliffhanger. The thing I've always liked about this show is that they have their story to tell and they get it done in their six episodes. there's no reason why an already short season should end like that without resolution.

Bigger story, much bigger story, you have the fascists, the chinese, the Billy Boys, Michael and the Americans, and whoever had Barney and Aberama killed to deal with.
You have to put all the pieces in place and explain them in order to have them all clash in season 6

I think it’s lining up to be an awesome season 6. I like the Billy Boys as adversaries. They seem badass and the Scottish accents are cool
