I love this show, but does anyone else feel like they sacrifice quality plot/development for fancy camera work and intense moments?

I don´t think it´s a choice between visuals and emotion versus content quality.
I think they´ve simply jumped the shark a few times, and are a bit disoriented.
I don´t get why Michael´s American wife has a 2019 accent, however.

I get this, at times it’s tough to binge watch this show. You have to pay such close attention because of the subtlety. There might be a major plot point and it’ll be revealed by a whisper in a seemingly random scene, or sometimes just with visuals. It can be hard to lock in that much for several episodes in a row.
Definitely not a show you can watch while doing anything else
