Episode 7 felt like a finale and Episode 8 felt like a new season

They needed to set something up and it involves Peacemaker being on that other world

I’m curious if he’s going to acknowledge the massive disappointment that was this season. He can’t help himself but respond to people online and I’m seeing a lot of negative reaction everywhere

Or whether he’ll go on podcasts and pretend he made a good season of tv and the hosts won’t call him out

At least Adebayo and her "wife" came to an understanding. We all needed that story arc closure.

What a joke nobody cared about that relationship and the only scenes they were in were together. The wife literally never interacted with anyone else. Why even put that in the show except for DEI?

I especially like that on his podcast Gunn said the interesting thing about multiverse stories is exploring the dimensions in detail rather than like Marvel showing bits and pieces then proceeded to do a montage of them all.

Even if it was a guy that was her significant other, it still would have been completely pointless and a waste of screen time.

Literally the only positive thing that came of any of that small arc was Adrian saying "now i'm going to have you and my moms pussy in my head".

In my opinion, season was good, not as good as season 1. I understand what Gunn was doing. I am not a comic person and do not know the in-depth details of the stories.

Peacemaker season 2 (episodes 1-7) had 2 goals:
1 was story telling and building more backstory of the characters- Gunn said that the cast might not be in a season 3, but they will be involved in another show. That show will be Checkmate (which could have been the Waller show remade). I do not know the details of checkmate but it’s popular in the comic books. It’s easier to start a new series with characters we already know and like while slowly working in new characters into the universe

2: explains more of the different dimensions. One thing I’ve constantly see is how marvel dropped the ball on their multiverse for multiplayer reasons. I think Gunn saw this, and took the time in peacemaker to somewhat explain the dimensions in more detail. DC seems to use the different dimensions a lot in there storylines

Now episode 8 is a one off episode, does not really have much to do with the season. This episode helps set up where the future will go. Salvation kinda reminds me of the movie Predators, metahumans get dumped on this mystery planet with a threat bigger than them lurking.
Salvation run seems like a pretty big deal and has ties to darkseid. I would think that salvation will be a miniseries in the next 4 years once they kinda establish some villains to throw there

So was the season good? Yes and no. Depends how you look at it thinking it will be exactly like season 1.

Finale was not good. Guess we all fell for it after epi 7. Now no season 3. Economos going to get witj cyborg chick? She is way out of his league. Only good part of e8 was Steel Panther song during montage.

Gunn has been semi critical of the MCU for sacrificing plot to world build but that’s what happened here this season.

I thought they were ramping up for a wild finale (flames he helped fan) and that was mostly shite…you had TWO full musical numbers in it while still having plenty of loose ends to tie up.

I wouldn't describe any of these characters or storylines as "popular in the comic books." That's part of the appeal.

Looks like instead of season 3 we are getting a tv show about Waller and Checkmate.

She was in the opening of season 1. I think she only had 4 apperances and was part of Ado's story. It's only DEI because they are gay but that didn't bother me as much as two musical numbers.

Two musical numbers by acts no one cares about, on top of that.

I’m more confused than angry about this season finale. It was just bad storytelling top to bottom. Still like the series… just not this episode.

it was just so out of place and eyeroll inducing. We didn't need her love story shoehorned into the show for 3-4 minutes, 2 long musical numbers and absolutely no action with Peacemaker.

Did he even wear the suit this episode? Nobody ate peace and that is lame.

in fact, the lack of action is a big complaint of mine about this entire season. Cena wore the damn suit to every promotional appearance possible probably because Gunn didn't let him wear it during the show

This bothered me more than anything else anyone is complaining about. That was a lot of wasted screen time that you could have featured in the credits or something.

It's clearly a set up for the DCU exploring the new planet/dimension where Peacemaker is and a Checkmate show. That said, I'm not a fan of doing that. I would've rather seen a finale with some resolution.

I was kind of happy to see Nelson but then they played a song from 2010 and not the 80s then the other band played a song we hear every episode. That should have been the credits maybe.

Then i was hoping we saw a large threat. Darkseid, braniac, Some one.

Also I thought they casted the Bride. Though I also think some would really dislike Monsters being added to the show. Though two of the team King Shark and Weasel were in the movie.
