Just saw this video come out of a deleted scene from Suicide Squad that explains why Rick Flagg was even sent on a suicide mission. Sorry it's in Tiktok format i couldn't find a good YouTube link.

I feel like we needed a few more scenes in the new world. I like their new team. I guess they are planning anther season but no real lead in to Superman. I would have rather not have had two 80s band scenes.

Yeah it felt a bit disjointed. Like you said, I’m guessing we’re getting the basis for the next DCU movie and I’m guessing the cameo is the team is behind Checkmate.
I wouldn’t say it’s a wasted season but I’m never a big fan of having to watch something in one medium to continue another and so on.

I’ve been watching all of the interviews on various pods and the official podcast and he hyped the shite out of this episode. It was nothing but filler and entirely too much cute James Gunn music

We were promised a cameo and the only cameos were the two new Lex Luthor employees. I wouldn't count that. I was hoping to see Darkseid or Braoniac or find out what that xenomorph guy was doing.

I have been waiting the entire season for something to break it all open and make it interesting. That moment never arrived. The first season is very rewatchable. I don't think I'll ever need to rewatch anything from this season. Very mediocre, drab, and indulgent.

It really is embarrassingly bad. They brushed past the most interesting aspect of the season.. the other dimensions.. they could have done so much more with it but chose to reduce it to a 5 minute montage.

So the show will be Checkmate from now on? That's what is hinted. I was hoping the Bride would show up and we would get at least one of the Monsters. King Shark and Weasel have already been shown. Bride was supposedly cast.
