Watched it and regardless of what this board thinks about Michael Bay, I thought this was a very well put together comedy. The price is right for the entertainment you will receive.

Heard it's Michael Bay's best film since The Rock...that said I'll probably wait til it's OnDemand.

Saw it today. I went in skeptical because I'm not a Michael Bay fan. I really enjoyed it. It has a lot of morbid humor, which isn't for everyone. The Rock and Tony Shalhoub gave the two best performances, but the entire cast was strong. I thought it did a great job of showing every character as a mix of charming/hilarious/despicable.

I really wanna see it, but haven't been to the theater in about 10 years. The New Times article that inspired the story is online. LOng as hell and haven't read it yet, but that paper usually puts out really good content.

Thanks for the link. I'll definitely read it sometime this weekend as I procrastinate on some final papers.

I did read this which points out the differences between the true events and the movie:
*Spoilers?*

You haven't been to a theater in ten years but THIS is the movie that will make you break your streak??!

And you're thinking of breaking that streak for this?

Not saying this movie is going to suck, but jeez there have been an awful lot of movies that have come out in the last decade that I think would motivate you to get to the theater before a Michael Bay flick starring a professional wrastler.

How so? Because of it's director?

The movie was "meh". It had some funny parts but took a huge dive at the end.

Had a "Crank" feeling throughout the entire movie.

Mark was decent

The Rock did good for awhile, then his character went to shite

Worthwhile DVD or DL, but don't go see it in theater's

I hated it.

I like the occasional funny/over the top action even with bad acting, but this was just horribly put together.

The whole tone of the movie was very confusing. Didn't know if I was supposed to be laughing or be in "suspense" but neither worked well. A LOT of scenes added in that have absolutely nothing to do with anything. Couldn't really like or respect any of the characters (which I guess is the point?) but it was just very hard to watch. Music didn't seem to match the film either.

Didn't expect much going in, but got less.
