No it didn't. It established that a ship that's over two miles long was able to destroy a portion of a larger ship and several smaller ship.
And that's at the most basic of levels. We don't know how much complexity or luck went into the destruction of that ship. We don't really know anything about it, other than it happened.

Dude, you were proved wrong then moved the goalpost on him. Adapting your opinion when new information arises is a good thing.

I literally quoted his original point in my reply. If I moved anything (I didn't), then I moved it back to where it should have been to begin with.

He lives to shitpost in these threads.
Notice how all he does is criticize and comment on other posts.
Go through the thread and count the cogent points he has offered up on his own. The over/under is 1. . .I'll take the under.
When cornered, or asked to provide his personal thoughts/opinions. . .he ignores the post, and continues criticizing his betters. He's kind of a coward, which is why most of us just ignore him. Hard to have a conversation with someone who literally offers nothing.
I disagree with about everything Baloo posted, and think his opinions are hot diarrhea. . .but at least he gives you HIS opinion.

Seeing some of you claim to have things figured out is one reason I come here.
This thread isn't about "DisplacedBuckeye's review of TLJ." If you want that, start your own thread. This thread is discussing the incredible melt that TLJ brought to this board one year ago. I'm trying to enjoy that.
Aside from that, the dude made a claim. I don't think it's a big deal to ask him to adequately support it. That hasn't happened yet.
This is a common cycle here. Someone makes a stupid point. I call them on it. They flail around attempting to get out of supporting their point. I ignore irrelevant and stupid questions to keep us focused on that point. Everyone melts.
It's not that hard. Ask better questions.
*Edit
The best argument made so far used the Japanese as an example, which made it a terrible argument.

I dont really have anything to add to the thread. Its still remarkable how badly they messed up. Disney ended up making a better movie series out of Ant Man than Star Wars. Just really biggest failure in cinematic history.

TLJ was so terrible I held off watching solo for a while. Of course it semi bombed from the backlash of TLJ.
However Disney blamed it on the turmoil about the director and set... Like people actually cared about that.
After actually watching Solo, they should have hired Ron Howard to do episode nine as well

Maybe, and I'd argue that TFA kicked it all off.

Just popping in to say frick Rian Johnson, again.

I was considering rewatching TLJ to see Kylo and Yoda. This thread made me remember it's just not worth it.

Nope. None of that establishes any rule that it can't be weaponized.
Then everyone but the purple haired lesbian gender studies professor is retarded. So it doesn’t make sense how they ever had any of this technology.

Excuse? No. It's one explanation of many possibilities. You don't have to like it because it isn't your story. It was never your story. Time to accept that.
No, in a universe of trillions over thousands of years, it is not a possibility. The people from Idiocracy would have thought of this, so in order for this to never have happened before, everyone but the lesbian professor has to have been brain dead, which means this technology could have never existed.

This is really the problem most people have with that scene. No matter how much you try to hide it, this always comes out.
Just so we're on the same page, it's the only problem I really have with the scene as well. I just don't try to hide behind some nonsense about hyperspace weapons.

Sure it does. From the article linked earlier:
"…hyperspace is a mystery more profound than gods and demons."
Why are we pretending that this is the first time Star Wars has made shite up to tell a story or create a moment in that story?

Because it was a huge failure for the Japanese. There's a reason that kamikaze attacks aren't doctrine for any military in the world.

We've seen every one of those trillions and all those thousands of years?

so in order for this to never have happened before
Who says this is the case.
We haven't seen it in the movies =/= this hasn't happened in this fictional universe of trillions over thousands of years.

Akin to purple hair giraffe.
No?
Seem pretty damn similar, making it AT LEAST an adequate analogy.

No?
No.
For starters, they used kamikaze attacks prior to the United States even entering the war. Also, their widespread use only quickened defeat for Japan by rapidly deteriorating their air power. Considering Japanese culture and their views on defeat, this had much more to do with their views on honor and duty than them believing this to be a winning tactic.
Again, there's a reason this isn't used by any military. There's also a reason this is the only example anyone ever points to when making the point.

First off I am in a Disney related thread.
Secondly, I don’t demand that someone I date be retarded like you’re demanding everyone else on this board. So you’re either dating someone with the IQ around the temperature of a bowl of cereal or you’re alone.
