The movie sucks but RT scores are not a measure of quality

Agreed, just highlighting the fact that the delta between critic and fan scores for TLJ is unprecedented.

I firmly believe there should be a comic book, super hero, Star Wars, fantasy board.

Really just a superhero movie board where Batman 18 and Avengers: The next Dumb Money Grab 8 can be discussed.

I’m still pissed off about TLJ and I’m not even SW fanboy. But wrong is wrong.

Like many on this board, I was giddy when the film started. But as the minutes passed and it went on I kept waiting for it to actually become a Star Wars movie.

Even driving home my cousin and I were talking about it, essentially just happy to see another Star Wars but you could tell there was a something off in our discussions, almost like we didn’t want to shite on it so soon. But after sleeping on it, we texted each other the next morning and both of us were like that freaking sucked, I guess it was the shock and the initial denial that it was that bad.

I’ve tried to watch it once since then, didn’t get past the shite bombing scene in the opening before turning it off. I will never watch that movie again. It never happened.

One Year Ago Today, Rian Johnson Broke
... the previously impenetrable fanhood of the star wars audience.

In his wake, the franchise will now never recover. He, and by a the enabling aid of Disney, Kennedy, Abrams, etc., created what I never thought possible as a casual observer of star wars fans.... Apathy and ambivalence.

The entire franchise became so toxic, due in large part to the studio's reaction to its own severe miscalculations and middle finger to its audience, that the no matter what happens in the near future, interest from its hardcore base, and backbone of the money, will not show up for any releases.

The market has spoken. It will not be pretty come next year's release.... Plus you don't even have the Chinese market to fall back on to save your arse financially after Disney pumps $400-plus million into the project.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Smack Talk on youtube, but here's a nice throwback review if you haven't seen it LINK

When Mark Hamill's first few interviews, where they asked what set this movie apart from the other Star Wars movies and he answered, in a bored tone of voice, "Well its certainly the longest" you had to know you were in for a bad ride.

It was what it was. A very bad movie that cashed in on and then killed the Star Wars franchise.

Now do I mean killed as in there will never be another big Star Wars movie? No.

Batman & Robin killed Batman movies for 8 years and they had to do a hard reboot to get it started again.

Star Wars will be back and strong, but they need to break with the current movies. Go a hundred years in the future. Go back to the Knights of the Old Republic. You've burned the franchise to the ground. Either let it lay fallow for 7 years or tell stories that aren't tainted.

I don’t hate it anymore. I certainly did for several months after first viewing. After I’ve rewatched it a couple times I really only hate the Finn and rose story line. It’s certainly not my favorite Star Wars movie but I like it well enough.

It was an absolutely terrible Star Wars movie. I'm very easily entertained, especially when it comes to SW. At the end of the movie I couldn't believe the thoughts running through my mind. I couldn't grasp the fact that my mind was formulating the words "hate" terrible" "wtf was that" and "Star Wars" all together.

I truly hate what Rian Johnson did to this film and the franchise. I was perfectly fine with everything Star Wars up to that film. Were the other films perfect? No. But they were Star Wars.

I don’t know how you were able to do that.

I tried and couldn’t make it passed the “Poe joke that was completely ripped from Thor: Ragnarok” scene.

They came out a month apart. I doubt that sequence was a complete rip off. It was cheesy and kinda out of place in Star Wars but its also 2 minutes long. Hardly a big deal.

I was in so much denial after I got out on opening night. I kept telling myself that it wasn’t that bad and then I slept on it and realized Star Wars was dead.

After Leia flew back into the spaceship I looked around the theater trying to see if any one else was wondering what the frick was on the screen.

I turned to my two friends I was with and told them this was one of the worst things I'd watched in a theater in some time and they thought I was nuts. I left the theater so confused

People gave it an applause and all that shite. I was in total shock.
