On a scale of 1-10, how pathetic is Mike Damone?

Let's break this down.
1. He looks like this.
Ouch.
2. Having a job as a teenager in a movie is always admirable, but this fricker is a ticket scalper? The lowest of the low, a step below teenage loan shark.
3. Sabotages Rat with horrible daring advice:
4. Now here he makes up for it, he at least has the backbone to put it to Jennifer Jason Leigh when she wants it in the pool house...
5.
This man will never get laid again in his life.
6. Stands the girl up at the shma-shmortion clinic because he hasn't stayed liquid. How the frick is a bookie not liquid?
Damone is dangerously close to 10/10. I'm gonna put him at 9.75 unless comeone can convince me there is something the tiniest bit redeemable about him.

There's an argument to be made that he was a self-assured dork trying to do a solid for a completely helpless dork; however, I think the stronger argument is that he only pushed Rat to make a move to benefit his own rep as a ladies man and only kept Rat around because he was the only guy at Ridgemont that knew less about women.
Through every step of Fast Times, Damone is acutely aware of (1) how fake his entire persona is (2) that 99% of the world knows its fake (3) that he will only ever be cool or successful in life in comparison to the people he surrounds himself with. Part of the reason he dropped JJL was because he knew he couldn't keep up with her.

That’s a mix of things that works out IMHO.
LZ wouldn’t license out any of LZ4 but did license out Kashmir. It works because Rat is clueless and probably thought “I don’t have LZ4, let me put on Physical Graffiti instead.” Even when he gets good advice he tends to frick up.

Yeah, I'm aware of the backstory now. Zeppelin has always been notoriously stingy with song licensing. When I first saw the movie, I was a teenage Zephead and the idea that he didn't have Zeppelin IV but somehow did have Physical Graffiti was preposterous.

That's the greatest dating advice of all-time.
Its not his fault that Rat is an idiot and didn't play Stairway. But played Kashmir from Physical Graffiti.
And that Rat forgot his wallet on the biggest date of his life.
Damone was actually a good friend. Rat was naive and Damone exposed Stacy for the slut she was.
Damone also brought that shitehead his wallet on his date with Stacy despite being "really kinda busy."
And Damone never came onto Stacy, all he did was compliment her ice tea.
When she gets pregnant and he says,"well you wanted it more", he wasn't lying. She practically raped him...tricking him into the Cabana with the ruse of swimming.

Damone spent the whole movie telling Rat that Stacey was DTF and if he was interested he needed to be ready. Couldn't claim ignorance there, it was the whole reason he went over.
