Character was based off a real person that robbed drug dealers in Baltimore and was convicted of multiple murders.

Donnie Andrews. He actually turned himself in to Ed Burns when Burns was a homicide detective. He played Donnie in the Wire, far right.

re: Omar Little
All my favorite scenes in the Wire have nothing to do with Omar.

#1. Snoop in the hardware store.
#2. McNulty/Bunk casing the crime scene using 1 word of dialogue
#3. All the lawyers scenes
#4. Herc and Carver in the high rises
#5. Marlo and Avon talking in prison
#6. McNulty talking to D’Angelo’s mom
#7. All the interrogation scenes

Stringer’s quite overrated to. I find his character extremely boring

That's all fine and dandy mate, everyone has their own take.

I just couldn't imagine listing 11 chars from The Wire outside of Omar Little and still not give an honorable mention to Stringer Bell, Bunk or Clay Davis as I mentioned.

I understand that posters intent though.

And as others have said, the show is actually based on real life Baltimore.

Again, just the name alone is enough for an honorable mention.

You didnt like the scene when Omar called out Levy on the witness stand?? And there are many great scenes.
And dont forget board favorite Slim Charles- if we lie we fight on that lie.

To be honest its hard to name a fav character from the Wire.

Prez was a frickup but interesting as well

re: Omar Little

You named 11 characters and didn't include Bunk, Clay Davis or Stringer Bell? Shhhiieeeet.

Stringer Bell deserves a mention for best name ever at minimum.
Well since the guy who made the claim couldn’t supply his answers I gave a pretty tongue-in-cheek reply. Thought it was fairly obvious.

re: Omar Little
The fact that we can even have this conversation about this many characters in a single series is a testament to its greatness.
