Watched it tonight and it’s still incredible and holds up to this day. I can only imagine when it first came out. Probably my #1 action movie all time

Cameron was on fire back then.

I was 12, think my mom took me to see it in theater since it was rated R, she was always cool about that..... when I’d have a friend spend the night and we were 8-10, she would let us rent Rambo and other cool rated R movies other than Debbie Doe’s Dallas .... t2 nothing but awesome. Hope you don’t think 40 is an older guy.

No idea. I think I had just started college when it came out and I never saw it.

The whole scene with Arnold stepping on the roses to the motorcycle chase scene is just incredible

Abyss is still my favorite Cameron movie

That’s the only one I’ve never seen

I was a huge Terminator fan in 1984. When T2 came out I saw it opening night. I was so impressed I saw it again the next weekend. The liquid metal cgi was insane. Furlong was annoying but other than that it was great.

You should check it out. Very entertaining

It was pretty damn awesome. The liquid terminator was hailed as the second coming for CGI, and the hype for this movie with Arnold in his prime was palatable. Even with the R rating, the buzz approached Batman ‘89 levels, with the primary difference being nowhere near as much merchandise tie-ins.
What is really cool is how much of the effects were actually low-tech. For instance, twins being used for not only liquid terminator scenes but even for Linda Hamilton’s patching up Arnold scene.

I was only four years old at the time of its release, but I remember the marketing campaign pretty vividly, plus all the toys associated with it. I got a few of them for my birthday. A lot of the kids at day camp were talking about it and were swearing their parents had taken them to see it.

It was a pretty big deal. A follow up to the already awesome Terminator. It was summer, had Arnold, The special effects, Guns-n-Roses on the soundtrack. I remember going to see it and it more than lived up to the hype.

Very. I remember the audience cheering when the first preview appeared. No one had an idea a sequel was happening.

You knew it was game on when the terminator crushed the skull in the opening sequence.
The speakers were hot.

My buddy and I moved to Auburn for school mid 90s, we lived next door to each other at the apt complex.
We set up our tv and speakers and used that scene to test the audio. That deep bass thud sounded nice.
Ahhh, the old days...

IMO it’s one of the best movies ever made.
