Can someone remind me why they are going a 3 day retreat? Like others said I was laughing because it was like they were storming Normandy and never coming back.
They’re going to drive all the cattle back to the ranch so they can brand them.

Same here. We watch mostly out of habit and it's a good way to end the weekend.
If it wasn't for Yellowstone, she'd have f'ing Hallmark Christmas Movies on all weekend.

i used to downvote suggestions like this
but more often then not, everything they must deal with now are situations, if not directly, are indirectly caused by beth and the things she does and says.
her crazy has gone off the scales to the point rips entire time is spent putting out her fires or trying to manage her crazy and the show, and all the other characters and story lines, suffers for it
kill off beth, and that restores the show to what it was about running the ranch, like it was in the 1st 3-4 seasons, the show would be much 1000x the better for it
and likewise, if they kill off or just get rid of Monica (kayces indian wife), that restores the show to kayce helping with running the ranch, like it was in the 1st 3-4 seasons
I think the show runners won't go for this since they'd lose at least half of their viewers.
I don't want them all killed off. I just want them all to be better. Beth was a great character the first couple of years. The whole Cowboys and Indians story was great with Kayce and Monica married and what did that mean to the story. However, Sheridan has completely gone away from what this show started as...a modern day western with the Cowboys and Indians fighting about land and tradition. They could even have eventually had them join forces against the outside developer and made it interesting. Instead, the characters are caricatures of their old selves and every episode just seems to be a bunch of fights, murders, or one liners strung together.

Just dropping a little interesting nugget in here to break up the monotonous plot...
Gator on the show name is actually Gabriel "Gator" Guilbeau. The guy is actually a cook and from Baton Rouge.
Didn't know if that was common knowledge or not here.

I could handle livestock agents acting like army rangers. I could handle John getting shot 50 times, left for dead on the side of the road and surviving. I can even handle all the murders that have gone ignored. What I can’t handle is listening to Beth giving some I’m a badass and you’re a loser speech anytime someone talks to her and everybody just hearing her out and taking it. It’s sad that Rip has turned into a bitch.

Now, it is a typical, Hollywood writer, soap opera.
The writers have never actually been on a ranch, or in the woods.
So, the only interesting thing they can come up with these days is manufactured drama, which continues to push towards the absurd.
Monica getting pregnant, just so she can get in a car wreck to lose the baby, and make them all sad again.
Bringing Environmental chick back into the mix to give Beth someone else to fight.
Oh shite, what about Jamie? Ummm. Get some lawyer honeypot to compromise him.
Boring.

kill off beth,

I think it's the demeanor that gets me. She doesn't cowboy. She doesn't work the land. She doesn't really do anything but complain and fight.
But it's always "we" and "us" when it should be "they".
She's useless but she doesn't realize it. Everything she does could be hired out for.
She was loathsome when she was a kid. Just nasty all around and her character has shown no growth since she was 18 or so. That's how immature emotionally she is. That's on Sheridan.

Nobody mention the chick fight with Beth? At this point me and my wife just laughed. What more can you say? Oh, and just come back inside and eat like nothing happened and spit out your tooth. So ridiculous.

I'm just going to play devil's advocate here and am no way condoning this shite story line. But, the show has set a precedent that this is they way things are settled when neither one is leaving. It's ridiculous, but not out of character for the show to have this (Kayce/Rip, Lloyd/Walker).

Same here. My wife isn't one to sit and watch a lot of TV. We usually have one show we watch together. We did Breaking Bad, then This is Us, A Million Little Things, Better Call Saul, and now Yellowstone. Of course, she loves Beth. Even though her personality is nothing like that.
I agree that a catfight between those two without a titty popping out is a crime.
The show is maybe the most predictable writing I've ever seen. As soon as the ME chick walked in to Jaime's office, I took one look at what she was wearing and KNEW those buttons were coming down in a minute.
Seeing Monica laugh was actually entertaining. She's been a one dimensional sad sack character the whole show. Good to see something different.
The whole "two days with nothing to eat and sleeping on the ground with no tent or bedroll. What the frick?
Camping gear is ultra light now. I can carry a full kit, including a Jetboil, water filter, and freezedried meals in a standard backpack with room to spare. Load up a couple of extra horses with that gear. frick, Clif Bars and Beef Jerky would suffice. Just dumb.
I'll keep watching, but man, this is going in the shitter.

Divorce her. My wife can't stand the character- hates it more than I do.

Nah. Too expensive.
Plus, she's awesome. She just isn't someone who reads fiction or watches TV and movies. She is happy with simple plots and doesn't see all the flaws. She's definitely a "normie".
In a way I envy her. She can watch a show this dumb and be entertained. While I'm sitting there picking it apart and bouncing back and forth between laughing and being mad at the shitty writing.
I've stayed away from The GOT and Rings of Power threads because I would bring down a calamitous wrath on the normies that are OK with that shite.
Ignorance is bliss I guess.

That was real women's empowerment. Not the whiny, adolescent shite Beth does all the time.

The production designer from this most recent episode is Yvonne Boudreaux, looks to be from Louisiana and went to LSU as well.

Lazy.
This is the perfect description for it lately.
John says some dumb, "profound" shite. Beth acts crazy. Jamie does something stupid. Kayce stews. No cowboy stuff.
I would take last season, make Jamie governor, keep the Jamie shot his real dad and Beth has the pic shite, and let John/Beth own him. Tone down Beth, show Kayce being Livestock Commissioner more and do more Rip and the Cowboys. ME chick can still bang Jamie, John can still make Jamie cancel the lease...etc. Small tweaks and we are all interested still.

Honestly, I don't hate it right now, except for Beth. I'm tired of her, really. And the bunkhouse is the soul of the show. The cowboys have gotten no play this season and that needs to change.

Lloyd last episode after Rip told peewee to tell Gator to pack a spike camp:
"Yeah, real cowboy s#%#"
Talking for the viewers apparently.
