Anyone still on the team that Wanda will be the big bad of this series and upcoming Dr. Strange?
I feel like that is a possibility, because I'm still not convinced Disney wants to go the Mephisto route.
At the same time, when she exited Westview, she could have easily fricked shite up out there. In fact I was really expecting her to kill every agent who pointed a gun at her. But so far it seems she just wants to be left alone. With the clues from this episode, I'm doubting again that she is big bad. Someone else is definitely pulling the strings.
Who that person is just might not be revealed until episode 9.

One last observation after watching Episode 5 again:
When Pietro shows up, the alarms are going off at the SWORD camp. The only other time the alarms went off was when Rambeau got thrown out by Wanda, and Wanda stepped out to confront them with the drone.
So I’m guessing Quicksilver ran into this thing, alarm goes off, and...I dont know after that lol

I’d be utterly shocked if they went full on comics Mephisto in this series. Could they Al Pacino him, sure. They’re not going to be true whatsoever to the comic depiction.
I think they are paying homage to all this with Easter Eggs but in the end, it’s Wanda and villain tie in will be Agnas.
Personally, I’m ready for some Dr. Doom in the MCU even though I have no idea what that could do with this series.

It's going to be weird, whatever comes of it.
I get the sense that whatever happens, it will be well developed by the time we get to the next round of movies...
Wandavision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki etc are going to take the place of 'filler' movies like IM2 and 3, Thor 2, etc.
Production values don't have to dip, and you get 6-8 hrs per series season- that's 3-4 movies a show, spread out a bit more.
I hope Star Wars is taking the same approach with their shows, because that's a tale that's suffered badly with the movie approach recently.

One supposed barrier to Mephisto, or at least the comic version, is the Chinese market. Devil-like characters, occult stuff typically doesn't get past their censors.

Random Endgame question that ties into Wandavision: who do we think Cap returned the Sceptor/mind stone to in 2012?
He wouldn’t have returned it to SHIELD because of the Hydra infestation. Kind of a long shot theory incoming.
Is it possible that she took his body, found the mind stone and put him back together?

I convinced the wife to binge the Marvel movies with me during the initial quarantine. We both (me more than her) thoroughly enjoyed them and would pause throughout and discuss the crossing storylines (so cute, I know). Wanda Vision and this thread have enlightened me to how much I don't understand about the entire MCU. I have informed her that we will be starting over and have homework on comic backstories and yet to be introduced characters. She passes her regards and asks you all to politely go frick yourselves.

First off, if you focus it on the Disney+ shows, you don't have nearly as much to worry about- dunno if China even has Disney+, and if they do, you can still choose to not have a show (or watch it). They're making their money off subscriptions, not box office take; so you run the Mephisto story on this, wrap it up prior to the movie, and off you go.
Second and more importantly, Mephisto is not "The Devil" like, say, the Exorcist. He's more along the lines of Dormammu, an evil, very powerful being from another dimension. Did they have an issue with Dr Strange?

Good question, but I’m pretty sure he had to return it exactly where he got it so another timeline wasn’t created. Thus, he probably gave it back to SHIELD even though he knew what was coming.

Hydra was bad, but developed Wanda and Bucky- so it was good in the end (as of Endgame). They really didn't do much other damage with the Stone, and he was successful in stopping their plans in Winter Soldier and beyond.
If you try to preempt that, you lose Bucky and Wanda, you don't get Ultron making Vision so you lose his arc. Tony might still make Ultron in another way, without Vision, and thus Ultron wins.
And Hydra would spring up in another manner, and you might not stop them this time.

This just shows, again, how much ahead Marvel is compared to DC, when it comes to translating things to film.
fricking around with death is dangerous, unpredictable, and morally questionable.
DC does it with Justice League, gives a few generic should we be doing this? quotes, has Superman cranky for about 10 minutes onscreen (at most), and moves on past it.
Marvel launches a series that will last longer in runtime than a feature film exploring the WHY of this move and the ramifications of it, and it seems like it will lead towards the next Dr Strange movie, and likely most of this next phase. I suspect almost everything focused on for the next few years, outside of some action scenes from action heroes, will stem from Wanda trying to bring Vision back, in some form. What has she done? What is she doing?

No one is going to compliment the actress that plays Agnes? She’s crushing. Idk her name but every time she pops up in something I’m a huge fan.

Cant wait for this week’s halloween episode where she tells vision he is dead!

I think Charles Xavier will reach out to Wanda from a different multiverse trying to calm her and maybe even push Magneto into her mind. Then it all comes crashing down

Makes sense. So did Steve not create a new timeline when he told 2012 Cap that Bucky was alive and then didn't return in the end?
As much as I want to believe he never left the house and spent his days with Peggy, it's not in Cap's nature to just let things be for 40 years until he gets thawed out.
That just brings up so many questions about what he did and how it impacted Peggy's work.

Did you just post a legit spoiler, man?

I don’t think he did.
A brief leaked “teaser” came out but nothing in it was really that spoilery if you’ve watched episode 5.

I actually developed a theory from Wandavision that what if Steve didn't actually return the mind stone. What if Wanda did some reality warping and Steve delivered a fake to the past timeline, meanwhile Wanda kept the real stone in hopes of reviving Vision.
I don't have much of anything to support this theory, but it would absolutely be a fun twist.
