FWIW... Kirkman said they got the blue meth from Breaking Bad. Little easter egg for fans.

Did I say it all had to be done in 1 day? I mean you have all day everyday to do whatever you want. Might as well increase your defense systems on some days.

Well, they do have a decent amount of people. What else are they going to do all day? They live in the damn woods. Wood spears are going to be pretty easy to get.

The way one of the writers talked about it, he said the freasher zombies are able to move faster and almost run, while zombies that had been dead for a while move much slower.

If what the writer says is true then the longer the zombies go the more stiff they get and eventually can't move, right???

Soooo, just hole up somewhere and wait for them all to freeze up. No?

Yes, but you figure you need 2 people on look out on all times.. every time you need anything that requires 2 people. Plus you need someone on the lookout at night, so they will prob sleep in the day. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's highly improbable to do so in a timely manner.
The thing you are most forgetting about is the human element. What if a "not-so-friendly" group of people happen to come across that house (with a perfectly good stick-moat) and they want it for themselves. You are trapped inside your house and bound by your moat. It instantly becomes a disadvantage.

Moving of the joints helps loosen up the rigor process. Not saying its full proof science, but it does make sense. Again, its still a zombie outbreak.

You know, the closest thing I can think of to a zombie world was the world of the early settlers in Kentucky and the like. They were pretty much in constant danger from Indian attack, either from a passing hunting or war party, to a massed attack from a major war party. And the one thing they did with their time and the first thing on their lists was to build wooden stockaids and forts made up on logs.

So, yeah, in a situation like that, the first thing you do is see to your protection. Protection comes first above all else.

For whatever it is worth, while on the march, every Roman soldier carried a wooden pole with him. Then every night when they stopped the very first thing they did, before doing anything else was to build a wooden stockaid complete with a ditch.

No more improbable than what they are erecting and what is protecting them where they are right now in the comic.

I'm safe from them because they cannot get to me. I'll simple shoot them from a safe place inside my hourse/yard.

Once your moat is complete this is not true.

The women can do this while sitting outside getting everything ready. The hunter(say Otis) is going to be by himself anyways.

I haven't read every page of the thread but form the last few posts I can tell you the best thing to do is make your way to the coast and take up residence in an old fort. High walls, moat in place. They are on the coast so you can commandeer a boat to go fishing. At night raise the gate for protection. If the gate doesn't raise, block it with the Winnebago.

Man, shite like this (unless it's a joke that I'm missing) is what the other comic/spoiler thread is for. Keep that shite over there.

I will offer safe shelter to certain travellers.......if they are willing to sharpen sticks all day to earn their keep.

Why wooden spikes? Who not metal pieces of rebar or something similar?

Now when you burn, the spikes don't burn up.
