Ok, so here's a thought - were Daryl and Rick communicating through morse code? Notice the blinks and nodding. Also, in the house in Woodbury there is a Morse code board...and Carol taught Rick it in the prison. And, Daryl and Merle used it in the woods.

it is without question a thought...but its not yours
at least you could cite your source as your post is nearly verbatim from one of the dozens of articles online about this

No, in case you didn't pay attention, rick even told negan that he was early so they weren't expecting him to show up

And as much as I realize it could never happen for the sake of story, I feel like in a real scenario, most people would just open the gate, shoot Negan in the face, then open fire from above on all of his people and be done with this shite.
No shite. If someone killed Negan, his group would disintegrate. Dwight would live for about 12 seconds and the rest of them would kill each other trying to be the next Negan.

Kill Negan and use the RPG's to destroy the walls of their compound, and you'd be done with them forever.

Sorry that only further proves my point:

So You get back to hilltop after that fundamentally horrible event and proceed to just hang out? You don't round up every thing that goes "boom" and at least prepare a little teeny bit?

At the least, even if you're not going to fight back right now, You've seen what they've done in other settlements, you know they're coming and will be rooting through everything and you don't think to maybe hide the guns or some of them?

Oh I know, Rick's in shock from what happened. Rick's always in shock and when he isn't he's usually making some stupid decision anyway.

So unless Neegan followed them home directly after the slaughter there's no excuse for the group going home and just chillin waiting for the inevitable visit.

Sure, the real life, logical response for Rick's group would be to rally the troops for all out war right after the first Negan incident, but that doesn't further (or stretch) the story.

Kind of like a lot of films or books, the writers take creative license so that more shows, movies and/or books can be stretched out and produced for the audience/consumers.

As the audience, we are supposed to buy in to the fact that one, the ASZ people follow Rick step for step. Number two, that Rick was too "shook" to fight back immediately due to Negan's onslaught both psychologically and physically.

That is the formula.

The show is 100% about who lives and who dies, since about season 3. That is the depth of the storytelling.

They are holding Daryl hostage with a direct threat to torture (send pieces of Daryl to them) him.

Rick has already shown to put the whole group at risk for the sake of one character.

Yep. They are screwed now. Never should have given up all those guns.
Although, I'm thinking Rosita ends up killing Neagan and all his followers just walk away.

Ok, I know some of you are losing your minds over this but Alexandria has MAYBE 50 people in at this point including kids. We know Negan has satellite bases and that night he killed Abe and Glenn there were hundreds of Saviors surrounding them with large vehicles and a bunch of weapons. This isn't the Governor with his merry band of misfits Rick is dealing with. Negan is an entirely different beast. If Rick would've done anything at any point all of Alexandria would've been leveled.

Sasha and Maggie are still out there, and they are the two people most devastated by the people Negan killed. The previews show them living in Hilltop, and Carol and Morgan are still at the Kingdom. You'd have to think that they all form an alliance at some point. Ezekiel has already hinted that he wants to fight.

Finally caught up. Feel like fast forwarding through this absolutely tiresome Negan dialogue.

"Easy peasy lemon squeezy."

Seriously?

Yeah, but when negan asked what he had on him all I remember Trevor saying was "a hatchet". Negan acted like hed never heard the term before.

I cant recall them taking his revolver when all other guns were taken.
