Did they say how his daughter died?
No, not the cause. The revelation came when he was drunk and to his partner's wife.

Thanks. I remember that scene now.

It started out slow, but by the end of the episode I was hooked. The Pilot definitely lived up to the hype.

It was a mix of Twin Peaks and Hannibal for me.

pretty sure they said he had just started at LSP 3 weeks before the show's 1995 setting
Yea, considering he didn't know who "Eddie" is. The Governor. I like how they use the name Eddie, an ode to old Edwin Edwards.
I've also read that Alexandra Daddario will get completely neked in the next or the third episode. She was the ADA or para legal who came in to brief Woody on the depositions. And for sake, here are some pics on her:
Her eyes....damn!

I guess that'll be when we see Woody give her his, well, woody.

I was trying to figure out where I've seen her before. She fine.

Harrelson is divorced in 12. No ring.
I'm going to call it right now.....Rusk ends up banging his old lady and that's the reason they split as partners. Marty's old lady seemed to take a shine to Rusk when they were eating dinner.

Agreed. I'm also going to go ahead and call that the governor's brother is the killer that they put in prison.

Seeing MM in this kind of role reminds me of his performance in 'Killer Joe'.

Is his character somewhat based off of Jimmy Swaggart?

Did anybody get a twin peaks vibe? I totally felt the intentional creepiness of the whole hour.
Yeah, some of that. Love how dark it is. Hope they take this somewhere.

Some of y'all don't listen worth a damn
.
Marty and Rust have been partners for three months when they catch the ritual murder case.
Marty mentions to his boss that Rust's files from Texas are sealed so they don't know his full history.
The former LSU pitcher is poor now because he had a "cerebral incident" that left him disabled and he never got a chance to go pro or graduate.
The baseball player's aunt mentions how much Fotenont "loved his niece and all the neighborhood kids" and that she and other kids used to come over and play with him. Rust finds one of the weird stick pyramids in their shed. In the interview with present day detectives, Rust mentions a few times about "the kids we found" and "the kids we dug up" in relation to Fontenont, implying he was responsible for his missing niece and maybe some other kids prior to being disabled and the stick pyramid links that to the current (1995) case.
