I only have one fricking question. Why is the movie titled The Rise of Skywalker, other than they keep rising characters that should long be gone from the story.

All the new movies do are rehash old plot lines including an incest kiss.

What in the movie made Finn force sensitive? I either missed it or forgot it and yes, it would be absurd

There's been an awakening. Another thing Rian fricked up. Even the little slave boy could consciously use the force to move things with no training.

Did anyone else find the scene where Ren discovers Palpatine weird? It seemed like a house of horrors or something, just kind of weirdly put together

Finally saw it....shite movie...the sequels ruin the prophecy, the whole saga. A story that is supposed to center around the Skywalker name comes down to two Palpatine's.

It was the worst part of the movie.

Yep.

These nine movies should henceforth be referred to as the Palpatine saga. Because that's basically what it is in the end.

What really makes it dumb is they know it's supposed to center around the Skywalker name because they have Rey at the end tell some lady her name is Skywalker.

I went into the theater thinking I was going to be disappointed because of all the negative reviews. Walking out of the theater I was thoroughly entertained and thought it was a pretty good movie. Could they have done better? Yes, but if critics and super fans take the collective sticks out of their asses then the world would be a better place. Go see it and make your own opinions instead of basing it off of critical reviews that are trying to offer a "hot take".

It’s called Rise of Skywalker because first off it shows Ben finally redeeming himself and returning to the light and it shows Rey embracing the light side and the Skywalker name. For me it works. It’s clear Luke and Leia are proud of Rey and feel she is one of their own.

And Rey literally rises up and defeats Palaptine, then takes the Skywalker name on the final scene, because the training of two Skywalkers who knew she was Palpatine overcame the dark side..

Burying the two Skywalkers light sabers on Tatoonie where they grew up cemented the Skywalker legacy. It was a nice bow on the Saga

Well there are two thoughts.

1. Go in for pure entertainment only. Forget story. Lines. Development. Just be entertained.

2. Go in expecting a movie that has completely destroyed the original trilogy and has even been all over the place as a stand alone trilogy. Terrible characters. Development.

Was I the only one who didn’t know the red Forrest in the beginning was Mustafar? Apparently, the planet “healed” itself allowing a Forrest to sprout up.

I'm not saying I think it was perfect, or even very concise.

The other times that the Sith were defeated in the series, a single person was taken down. Maul, Dooku, finally Palpatine in ROTJ.

Remember I made the Palpatine/Sauron analogy a few hundred posts back? (probably not)

Exegal is like Palpatine's Ring; it is the hidden, secret Sith planet and a primary source of their continued existence. That appeared to be a Sith temple, with statues of past greats etc.
That big crowd chanting, they dissipated into mist when Palpatine went down. That means they were ghosts, Sith Force ghosts. And it wasn't some Rule of Two thing, it was a whole lot- which I suspect was every major Darth in their history. Palpatine's rebirth was the culmination of their Order, the SW version of the Apocalypse.

The whole "chosen one/immaculate conception" thing for Anakin was something that got retconned out because it was in poor taste really. He didnt bring balance to anything. He diced up some younglings and other equally inept jedi. Anakin never really mattered all that much. Or Vader for that matter. Vader got replaced by a muppet with a wierdly shaped head in the new films. Lotta people on this board just need to accept and embrace change.
