John Walker may be the most unlikeable characters in the history of the MCU.

He's not even the most unlikable character in the show. Hell I don't even dislike the character, despite the guy playing him having an annoying face. His partner was more unlikable than him prior to this episode.

I hope Hoskins isn’t dead, I actually like him and Walker together. They have a different set of charisma that this universe needs, a rivalry of sorts with the Avengers.

This episode and last episode were great and I called Walker turning into some JV version of Homelander in episode 1. It shows that not all heroes are pure like Cap and are rather more like Bucky with conflicting views/actions. Really good parallel between him and the Winter Soldier.

Can’t wait for next week, also hope the Solo chick goes soon, her storyline is getting drawn out. Zemo continues to dominate the room with everything he’s in, Marvel was brilliant in bringing him back.

There are multiple issues Marvel/Disney are taking on here with pretty good success in my opinion. Remember, They are interested in keeping viewers interested...look at the range of viewers that will stay tuned, this is not focused on comic book fan boys and their fantasies or what if’s.

I don’t think there is a big reveal here. I think in the end, a few simple, basic, moral issues are being played out through the hands of not-so-perfect super heroes. The Avengers was about Gods that people looked up to, to save the day. After the day has been saved, what are you going to be? Zemo gets it; he should probably have his own team.

When Walker was talking about serving in Afghanistan and getting ‘badges’ (medals) for “the worst day of my life”...man that cut me hard. I can’t tell you how many veterans I’ve talked to that bring up their service reluctantly and don’t want to talk about their service with everyone. Not the older ones they are usually grounded in life. It’s the ones still trying to raise a family and be a normal citizen it’s got to be rough at times

Sharon’s fight scenes were probably the best I’ve seen with a female fighting multiple males. She has to go with tacit and targeted strikes because every time they strike her, you can tell it takes it’s toll. She fights exactly how she would be taught to fight in hand to hand combat training when you have a much larger and stronger opponent.

There was a video of 2 or 3 guys running up and taking a guy's girl's purse and the guy fighting the group. Sharon kind of reminded me of that when she would hit and stun one for a few seconds and then go to the next and tun them. She chipped away at all of them until they were down. The guy did the same, he would punch one and get them stumbling and then go after the other until they were off balance.

I have actually thoroughly enjoyed this show so far. The fight scenes have all been reasonably down to earth fights, there has been depth added to the characters and the acting has been really good. It is different than Wandavision and will most likely be very different still from Loki. The MCU shows have been well done and thought out so far adding a nice depth to the universe which is a great use of them.

It really doesn't make any sense.

Might have something to do with her trying to get a loan and both her and Sam being turned down.

I enjoyed the episode and I'm enjoying the show.

The one downside for me is sometimes things seem a little too plot driven rather than character driven. ie: Characters do things to move the plot along rather than the logical thing for that character.

An instance from earlier is that I don't think Sam would have ever gone along with freeing Zemo or would have worked with him. I'm not even sure Bucky would have gone there.

In this episode, the Dora Milaje came across as morons by letting a fight with Walker distract them so that Zemo could escape. (Granted, they have never come across as particularly level headed, but for God's sake, keep your attention on what you went there to accomplish).

What I did like was they tried to present both John Walker and Karli Morgenthau as complex characters with both sympathetic moments and shortcomings. Granted, they were more successful at that with Walker (especially for places like this board), but they didn't go black/white for either. Same for Zemo.

I also liked that they kind of tied up having super soldier serum floating around. By killing the scientist, smashing most of the vials and killing off some of the Flag Smashers (and I'm guessing arresting others that were incapacitated in the fight), that should tighten things up.

The original plot line for the Flag Smashers revolved around them releasing a virus that would drop the world’s population back to Blip level.

So yeah that had to change and they didn’t want to can all of their footage filmed pre Covid so that’s why their plot seems to have no direction.

Should have said they released covid.

I was gifted a lot of John Walker comics as a kid, I am a fan of Agent, glad I have those books now.

America didn’t turn her down for the loan, the bank did. Her animus seemed a bit disproportionate to the perceived slight.

Have we been watching the same show???

He’s an over the top a-hole and has been since shortly after he was introduced.

Is he though?

He was asked to do the impossible with nowhere near the physical abilities nor the support that his predecessor had.

I do think they have tried to make Walker a sympathetic character, whether that has worked or not is ultimately up to the individual viewer. Personally, I see him somewhere in the middle.

Also, I’m sure this has been discussed a bit but they’re once again teasing a “surprise cameo” next episode. Assuming it’s not the show Paul Bettanying itself, who do you guys think it is?

It's clearly Mephisto disguised as Reed Richards pretending to be an alternate universe Quicksilver posing as the Power Broker

..question for all

In endgame, before Stark joins Hulk, Antman, Rogers and Natasha..Antman uses the machine and comes back younger. Was a side gag for the show, but in reality they can make a person younger. They've discovered eternal youth.

If old Steve Rogers stepped into the suit now, in theory he could come back, right?

Technically, yes.

That was either a really careful side-gag or a really careless one. But this is an easy way to make Rogers young again, and it very well could happen after Evans takes a break from being Captain America.
