Yes I laughed at that. Thats what was awesome about the Joker. In a sick way he was funny even when killing people. I liked when he broke the pool stick and said he had one spot left and there were three of them. Funny but he was responsible for two people's deaths. But despite the comedy the joker always brought me down to earth by freaking the shite out of me. Awesome performance.

One of the weirdest parts of the movie I found were the electronic pulse crap with the cell phones.
The guy somehow is able to create a 3d image and walk around it in a bat suit while seeing perfectly until the electronics screwed up. I mean, that crap was half way believable in Iron Man but some on.
A bluetooth Batman was over the top. Glad the Joker "pulled out his wires".
I estimate in movie time, Two-face became two-face for three hours total. The series in the comic books developed his character worthy of more then 15 minutes of screen time.

I agree with the CNN reviewer who said that Harvey was the only character that didn't deliver, which I was surprised to see given Eckhart's past work. The thing about Two Face is that it's Harvey's real identity. He's a good guy, but he's also completely full of himself, which is his pre-Two Face persona. Eckhart just didn't sell it.

Director Kevin Smith of Clerks and Mallrats fame, and noted comic book fan, here is his review of TDK..
"Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and frick, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. fricking flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece. "

quote:This was awkward in Begins too. The best we could figure out is he changes his voice so people won't recognize it, obviously. Then he goes into ("I don't know, I swear to God!") "SWEAR TO ME!" mode when trying to intimidate someone.
My only complaint about the films is Bale's voice when he's in the suit. I understand making it a little deeper but at times it just sounds ridiculous.

I agree with what is being said about Ledger and the Joker. You forget that it is an actor on the screen and SEE the Joker only. Unbelievable performance. I have to see it again to make my final judgement, though.

So who is gonna be Catwoman in the next movie? I'd vote for Megan Fox.

Ledger's performance was excellent--comic but as part of insane character. good and evil in all of us big theme well executed ---small part by tiny lister as prisoner is excellent, freeman ,caine amd oldman great as usual. gyllenhall is sexy ugly but beleivable.eckart also good.bale as batman is worse part due to his growl as batmans voice.oscars will go to ledger , makeup and techical awards. will get nominated for best picture director and cinematography

Just got back from seeing it at the IMAX.
Wow is all I have to say. What a phenomenal movie.
ETA....watching it in the IMAX....If felt like I was actually there. This was easily the best movie going experience that I have ever been a part of.

So does this mean they cant use the Joker in any other movies here after? I am a bit confused as to the villian situation, since they all appear in the later movies.

When I watched it last nigh, everything disappeared and it was just me and the film....very rarely does that ever happen to me. Ledger was just phenomenal...

Saw it last night at midnight, If its not the best movie I have ever seen in my life, its close. Ledger better at least get nominated for a oscar. Two Face was badass, I'm pretty sure you will see him in the third movie. If and when they make a third movie, there gonna have to bring it hard, maybe have 2 to 3 villians, just really not sure who they would be, two face, riddler, catwoman?

I think they could still use the joker as a villain, but will they? I highly doubt it with the masterful, amazing job that Heath did in the role. They don't want to put anyone in a situation where they have to live up to the best villain performance of all time.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In your theater did people clap and scream when Commissioner Gordon "came back from the dead"?
I was also very surprised no one pushed the button. I thought for sure one boat would and it would end up blowing up their own boat.
