and yes, on the heels of that we have the whole 'assault on precinct 13' scene. damn.
It's retarded. They shot heavy weapons at an active sheriff station for what seemed like hours. With zero interference from an outside agency. It's like Banshee exists in its own little fricked up universe where anything goes and people heal immediately.
With as fast as people heal (especially Lucas and Kai, the show is almost more fun if you watch it as a prequel to The Boys.

i like the bunker character i'll look forward to his career with great interest.
Like him a lot, I'm just waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me on his reformed nice guy routine.

That was such an odd little side plot that really only lasted about one episode. But it was fun though. The shitty SFX when Lucas threw the fat dude out of the bottom door were awesome. Dude's body just disintegrated.

job is no longer my favorite character. feel like the writers ruined him; he was way more fun in season 1 but his story has become tiresome.
I still don't like his character, but he has at least grown on me a little. I don't full up hate him anymore.

not to mention that was a pretty industrial 'police station lockdown' setup considering they didnt have the budget for a police station and had to use a caddy dealership.

Hector with the sword is pretty funny.
since we're doing the whole season...rebecca was right! she almost got kai killed but his concessions to the black dudes made him look weak.
now we're back to 100% kai again.
the whole dynamic w/ rebecca and kai is weird. she went over to him and hugged him and didn't seem like she was about to have sex. her moving past the bed in the next scene didnt help either; this is a very ambiguous relationship esp. since kai is now fricking his mom's nurse.
yep, lady in the barn. that was dumb and brutal way for her friendly neighbor to go out.
hood walking past kai..'i'm not the sheriff anymore' does that mean he's not going to keep going after him?
frick deva. how many chances do you get? and now her stepdaddy is gone.
chayton had the jump on hood in the NOLA hotel; he couldn't just finish him off either?

Ok last thought for the week. What is the deal with the safe combination changing each season in the opening credits?
Just random or is there a point?
Also I enjoyed the "alternate cold open" on one of the season 3 episodes that was showing kai going about his business instead of the regular credits.

I think it is another reason it was so entertaining for me. They keep you on your toes. You still have some crazy shite coming up.

Finished the series Thursday night.
Comments on season 3. It was brutal as frick.
Bunker is a good character. He needs to wear a little sign with the little speech he gives every time he meets someone “I know my appearance can be shocking etc…”
His younger brother has one of the most punchable faces ever.
Hated seeing the hot deputy get neck snapped by Chayton. I was hoping Hood would maybe settle into a normal life with her. The shotgun blast to the head was satisfying even though I told my wife that it was a magic shotgun that held like 11 shells.
Carrie and her all of a sudden bad arse husband beating the shite out of kids at a party was pretty stupid and forced. Carrie does a lot of stupid shite like banging random army guy. The husband did go out a hero of sorts I guess.
The Nola/Burton fight was entertaining if as others have said unbelievable. This show is so over the top I just ignore all that stuff and enjoy it for what it is. The throat rip was the best since Roadhouse.
The siege of the Cadi was probably my favorite episode of the season.
Brock’s wife being the hospice nurse and banging Kai is so on point for this show
Hood and the Fed that played the vampire King of Mississippi on True Blood in the 18 wheeler was also entertaining.
Wasn’t a fan of Hood’s son going out like that. Burton killed him for banging Rebecca. Who among us wouldn’t bang Rebecca. Absolute smoke but batshit crazy smoke the further into the show we go.
Season 4 takes a really big turn in tone but I liked it. I’ll leave it at that till next week.

I told people this at the very beginning. Yes its over the top but it doesnt take away from the appeal of the show. That fight scene was insane..

They hit on so many things in that episode. Sneaky and obvious. I hate the she died as well but I think you knew it was coming. You cant have a guy loike Hood settling down. Just not what the show is about

Maybe it is because I am older but she was hot AF to me. I cant put my finger on it but she just did it for me. She made my hot girls thread.

His name was Russell Edgeington. In True Blood. LOL: He always plays a great part.

Are we discussing Season 4 yet or is that tomorrow? I enjoyed it even though about 4 episodes in you could see the ending coming a mile away.

might as well, i think most people in the thread have finished the series.
Amish
rednecks
Skinheads
Indians
satanists
is there anything this little town does NOT have?

Well you knew the final fight would be Hood vs. Burton. That just had to happen. Rebecca being killed in episode 1 was a bit of a shocker but set the scene for the dark turn the series was going to take. Her being a target of a serial killer never passed the smell test so I kind of saw where this was going right away. Basically the only thing Burton could do to turn Kai against him. Also it must be super easy to snap a neck because pretty much everyone in this town is capable of it. The satanist were kind of lame but that one chick being full blown Stockholm syndrome was kind of cool. Deva kind of gets her shite together so that was nice I guess. Even as a mountain man Hood still tapping Rebecca. Thought it was out of character for her to care for him considering they spent all season 3 turning her into a heartless psycho. Him knocking her up was a shock.
Glad Bunker killed his dipshit brother. Who would have thought a Nazi party in the woods would have that much talent at it
Him delivering Kai the leaders head and making demands was all time stupid. Anna and Joe taking out the Cartel and not being instantly killed was all kinds of stupid.
I wish the ending would have shown Hood being like a campus officer at whatever college it was that Deva left for. Him just riding off into the sunset on the bike he arrived on fell kind of flat considering he had reconnected with her and had an unborn child murdered. Overall 7.5 out of 10 for the series. It was a fun ride.

Totally forgot about this thread and responding with my comments and thoughts on S4...
Oh shite Bunker is banging his bro’s wife. Wow.
S4 is basically the Banshee version of True Detective.
Eliza Dusku? Please God let her get naked.
I love Kai is the mayor and just freely lets criminals go and everybody knows it and nobody can do anything about it.
This weird Satanic killer side story feels a little out of place. But why not throw it into the mix as well.
Oh so Eliza, smokes, meth or crack or whatever the hell that is too? Of course.
OK, so Watts is the Bunker brother's father-in-law. Interesting. And I love how he gets released from prison right after going on that tirade on the entire parole panel, and I guess nobody has any issues with that? The universe the show exist is a complete clown show.
Of course, Eliza is beating up in manhandling multiple men. Another Mary Sue running around.
Bunker goes to try to assassinate the white power leader in his police cruiser and dressed in his police uniform? Banshee people continuing to do their jobs in the absolute worst way possible.
That's about where I stopped taking notes as I watched, and I just powered through the rest of the episodes. I'll say that this isn't a terribly good show, but it's a very entertaining one, if that makes sense. If you view it as existing in its own completely retarded universe, it's fine. But it's just so over the top and ridiculous that it loses a lot of quality for me. But I am glad I finally watched it and if nothing else, it was a pretty good time.
Since I've been off of work for several weeks (shoulder surgery) I've been powering through several series. I finished up Banshee. Caught up on the last half-season of Cobra Kai. Rewatched and finished Silicon Valley (I had stopped originally around S4). Finished the last half of The Sopranos. And just started The Leftovers yesterday. really been on a TV kick lately.

I mean honestly, isn't that every show on TV that's worth a damn?
People love Jack Reacher/John Wick but say Banshee is too much.
One of my favorite series of all time. Just a great watch that was never, EVER, boring

FWIW, I’ve never seen the Reacher stuff but I watched all the John Wicks within the last six months or so and borderline hated them because they were so over the top stupid and unbelievable. I get why people like them though. What it does, it does really well. It’s just not really for me.
