its been heavily rumored and suggested that feige is positing captain marvel to become the driving force of the MCU going forward
I don't see Fiege being that dumb. He has assembled a really good track record of coherent stories running together and meshing well. now isn't the time for political correctness. hell, i would rather see them pump up Shuri as a new Iron man-esque character and put her out front.

if Captain Marvel can effortlessly rip through Thanos’ ship, why the hell hasn’t she done that years ago?

They very specifically introduced the Skrulls in her film for a reason.

Seems that they’ve set the Captain Marvel character up to do her own movies and just fill in anywhere else. I don’t see her being the focus of the universe.

Complaint in the continuity: if Captain Marvel can effortlessly rip through Thanos’ ship, why the hell hasn’t she done that years ago? Miss “I protect other planets”.... hey, how about you go after the guy that has wiped out half the life of dozens of planets? Seems like you should go after him first.
In these types of movies, you open a whole can of worms when you start nitpicking and questioning why characters didn't use their power to do this or that or why their power levels fluctuate so much.
The truth is most of the time there is no "logical" answer other than it doesn't work as well for storytelling purposes.

Now that I covered the time travel piece, and there are probably a few holes there (what time travel situation doesn't have some questions)....
What a finale for this group of films. You really couldn't ask for more. IW may still be the better film overall but Endgame was exactly what it needed to be.
1. Cap leading the charge, wielding Mjolnir, was probably the best sequence of the MCU for me. They finally let him really unleash. I'm glad they let him use it for a good chunk of the film. And that makes "On your left," the best single moment with "Avengers Assemble" after the intros of everyone. Just a perfect moment.
2. Tony dying was necessary, and he went out well. Such a great character and it took nothing away from Cap or Thor, they all had moments.
3. Revisiting the past was worth the price of the time travel shenanigans. Thor and Frigga, Howard Stark. Cap and Peggy. This is what comics are, almost what they have to be. Crazy things happen to get to moments like that.
4. The film absolutely flew by. That did not feel like three hours. Credit goes to the Russos for keeping things moving, but STILL somehow telling small stories. Feige does an excellent job at crafting characters. Starlord gets like 90 seconds of screen time, but you kind of know exactly where he is as a character now. That's awesome.
5. I didn't mind the structure. I love the heist elements. The first hour was needed to put things into perspective.
6. I like that the MCU as a whole always finds something for heroes to do. Rocket getting a ton of moments here. Nebula being at the center of the story, Pepper joining in, while still giving Cap, Tony and Thor complete arcs.
I mean, this does set up some interesting things. Thor with the Guardians is awesome. I think it'll be 5 years until we see another official Avengers film, if not longer. I wonder if the Sam/Bucky show will lead to films. They actually left a ton to play with while still wrapping up a good chunk of items.
10 years of films, and this was the perfect film to close it out, while opening up new doors. That's all people wanted.
I actually think Frigga's comment was the core of the film itself. Tony had to sacrifice himself, Steve had to have his life, Thor had to give up the throne. All of our major characters had to "be who they are." I think that is what is meant by the end. This sequence took it's toll. What's going to happen next?
I wonder if we'll get a slew of announcements at the Disney expo thing they do every year, or if Feige will finally open up after Endgame has been out for a month or so. Black Widow's film has to be the origin story.

Anyone else annoyed that after Cap and Tony the next most screen time was fricking Nebula. She was on the screen for like 50 mins. She was essentially the 3rd lead of the movie. Imagine being told that 6 years ago. That nebula would have more to do with the story than Thor, hulk, Hawkeye etc etc.
Nebula is also important to the comic story, so it's fitting. And Gillan does well in the role. I thought it worked.

Also did SLJ have a conflict. Its as if he essentially just tagged CM in and bounced. When. Thanos ship started firing up through the clouds I thought "oh shite I bet it's Fury and Scherbatsky on the big SHIELD ship. Tight". Nope just that new bitch.
This is probably a missed opportunity.

Because they were trying to get it to the quantum realm via the van before Thanos blew it up.

The movie was great but the forced girl power scene was cringe.
"she's got help"
Everyone's fighting the end of the world on a cosmic scale in unity yet they somehow find time to assemble an all girls football team.
It was so forced and out of place

Anyone else notice that when Captain Marvel grabbed the gauntlet she bent Thanos' fingers backwards?
In the comics Adam Warlock breaks them.

Thats the wrong message to send imo.
There's a fine line between being true to themselves and not abandoning their duties and responsibilities.
Cap gave everything he had and then some. He completely finished his role and helped save the day more times than anyone could ask for and thus deserved the reward he got.
Tony chose to do the right thing and that's him embracing his responsibility to truly save the universe. He went out a hero after he got his happy ending even if it was only for five years.
What they got wrong with Thor was him abdicating his duty and responsibilities to Asgardians and leaving them in the absolute worst position they've ever been in their entire history, a people his parents entrusted him to lead. What moral argument is there for Thor to be gallivanting around the universe when Asgard is still not fully rebuilt as the golden wonder it was, his people still not fully repopulated and restored to its peak of glory?
Some of the best leaders in history are the ones that never wanted to lead in the first place. So far as of now, He failed that test.

Captain Marvel had the most powerful presence by far. She beats Thanos arse more than anyone and the only time she gets hit is when Thanos takes the power stone off the gauntlet and punches her. And she saves everyone from the "hail fire" attack.
Captain Marvel has probably the most boring and overpowered superpowers. Everything around her explodes and she punches super hard. wow.

It's okay, a woman is in charge now.

I’d just like to focus on the fact that Captain America’s ultimate goal in life was to be a side piece
What if I told you that Steve was peggy's husband all along and Steve and peggy kept the marriage hidden from the world?
We never found out who she married. In fact during that scene in Civil war with old peggy on her deathbed, her pictures is just her and her kids with no man in the picture. Why is that?
IIRC, Even Sharon said that peggy kept a lot of secrets more than anyone else she knew.
And then old steve shows up on the bench with a wedding ring on his finger?
Cap and peggy married in secret and kept it a secret for decades.

I actually have to say, as a huge Cap and Thor fan, that “And I...am...Iron Man” is probably my favorite moment. Just truly epic

The powder puff avengers.
Brie Larson and Gwyneth Paltrow are not believable at all as heroes. Especially Gwyneth Paltrow.
Valkyrie, Scarlet Witch, and Widow fit their roles.

The first time she encounters Thanos he dodges her punch, grabs her arm, and tosses her like a rag doll.

You have to consider the idea that maybe Feige isnt making that decision himself.
