I only read the first 3 pages of undoubtedly midnight showing, fandom, but Bruce is most certainly alive at the end. Why else would the auto-pilot have been fixed 6 months earlier.
Also, why were we shown the really cool "throwing star" feature of the bat gauntlets when Bruce accidentally [accidentally, very good Mr. Lau] sets them off in TDK when the suit is first unveiled, yet they are never used [at least, I don't recall them being used]?
And, all super smart Bruce Wayne had to do was disconnect Bane's mask, which he only tries, again, accidentally in the war battle [at least it appeared accidental on a single viewing]. WTF. I'm no Bruce Wayne, and that would be the first thing I tried.

Holy shite, a negative review that is actually well thought out and contains legit cons. I respectfully disagree with your opinion, but I thank you for giving an honest and legitimate review.

He used them on the Joker at the end.
"you know how I got these scars?"
"no but I know how you got these"

I could understand a lot of complaints, but I don't get people saying they couldn't understand Bane's voice. It really wasn't that hard.

Ah, what might have been. And we'd have gotten to see Batman whoop Bane's arse convincingly, with this scene.
I think they remained quite faithful to the comics actually. Bane is physically superior to Batman. I don't even know if the Batman from Batman Begins could have defeated him outright. The way Batman defeats Bane in the comics is not with strength, but with strategy. Batman does this in the final fight as Bane was still giving him a nice beating. Instead of trying to match Bane's blows like he did in the first fight, he goes for Bane's weakness: the mask.

Just that alone would help the film, as I'm pretty sure most fans, love the film or not, would have preferred Batman finishing of Bane himself.
I'd agree with this, though I didn't have a problem with it in the context of the film. Batman had already defeated Bane. He would have finished him off completely had Talia not come in and stabbed him with a knife. There was no need to continue the fight between the two of them at that point. Plus, after that long monologue by Talia, I feel as if a resumption of the brawl would have been awkward.

There were times I couldn't understand him, but I could for the most part understand him.

Bane was cool, calm, and collected in fight 1 and was basically toying with him. In fight 2 batman went after his weakness and once bane realized he knew he completely lost his shite and started swinging wildly, Batman had his arse. I liked how it went down

Me too during the midnight showing, but during my second viewing I picked up on everything.

Bane's voice. [wasn't discernible during much of the film]
It's different yes, but I seriously didn't have trouble understanding anything he said. I don't know what that means, maybe I paid closer attention, I'm not sure. But this wasn't an issue for me.

That "fact" that Bat's is on a "suicide mission" being beat over our heads.
What? Three times maybe? Ok.

Again, a Batman movie, where the best points are not Batman. Begins, Bruce becoming Batman. Dark Knight, the Joker steals the show. Rises, I'm not sure, some combination of Catwoman and Blake. If anything, Begins, where it takes an hour for Batman to get to screen, is arguably the only movie where Batman has the best scenes/ carries the movie
So Nolan is faulted for 1) providing a legit backstory in BB, 2) creating an awesome villain, which is typically a good thing and 3) your not sure you just didn't get enough Batman it should have been named something else.

Snooozefest [yes, with three o's]. I probably checked my watch three times during this movie. Hate my opinion if you want [I'm sure some will], but I thought it was boring and dragged, often.
Good lord I'd like to see a movie that keeps you awake. It needs to be 30 minutes and not stop fighting and gun blast I guess. How bad is your attention span for this to be a snoozefest?
quote:
Tried too hard to tie this to the first movie. The first two films had a natural flow to them. Something about this one was off. I think this speaks mostly to Blake's Character
This is my biggest complaint about your post. You realize that the first two films really had no ties to them? When you put together the three films as a whole, the second film could have been a stand alone. TDKR tied in perfectly to BB, way more than BB did to TDK. That makes no sense why you even think that. Not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying. Maybe we are watching different movies because there wasn't much of a flow between the first two. They were both Batman movies, that's about it. You could have watched TDK without ever seeing BB and you'd be fine. You would have had to of watched BB to follow this film. Certainly didn't try too hard seeing as they had to if you're going in a LoS and Talia Al Guhl direction.

Bruce, a cripple with no cartilage in any joint and a jacked up back [thank god it was an over the head, over the knee drop; they got that part right]... magically cured in prison with wet rags to suck on, a punch in the back, and some rope. Take that modern medicine
Like everyone of my friends are into this natural medicine crap. No joke, like almost every friend I got goes to see this doctor an hour and a half away to get oils rubbed on their head and none of them get shots anymore and NONE of them can eat gluten. I'm like, "Y'all realize this dude isn't a Dr right?" Nobody seems to care. I'm gonna open up a "Dr's office" and all I do is tell people not to eat gluten and I'll be rich. One friend and his wife use the black salve crap. This stuff creeps me out. You put some black salve on your back and and it pulls the cancer that was in your a-hole out of your back. Again, I'm like "Am I the only one who has Internet and has read that this stuff has never been proven to remove cancer." Yes, you did have a tree root growing out your back, but guess what, you now have a hole in your back. That wasn't cancer it pulled out, it was that part of your back you're now missing. Anywho...

The war at the end. The city being under siege. The federal government getting involved. The giving Gotham back to its citizens with an atomic bomb undoubtedly going off. The fact that said bomb... errr, nuclear fission reactor was going to become unstable at a precise, down to the second, time.
It bothered me that the US government/president did absolutely nothing. They flew some jets over and chilled on the bridge. Thanks a lot guys.

Batman did not whip Banes arse convincingly at the end? He crushed his face in pretty much.

<editing MY end scene some more>
Bane choking the life out of Batman, but Bats uses his ninja gauntlet armbands (hey, he has them on) to rip Bane's mask off and breaks free. We get a ferocious fight where Bane is raging, but Batman ultimately drives him back, and beats him down. Bane makes the "it's too late to stop her now" comment, Bat looks/realizes that, and then finishes Bane with a brutal bat-gargle (this can be interpreted as yelling "no" or something
)
We go to the dramatic running to the Bat/truck drives off scene- he's not moving great, clutching at his injury and panting, (some snow drifting in the air around him? maybe some steamed breath since it's winter?), -cutting back/forth to that cocky wench as she rolls off, smiling as she sees how big a lead she has on Batman in her mirror.
-then we get the final, desperate chase with the Bat, and she's way ahead and nearing the tunnel; he's trying to shoot her but the truck is too far ahead and he's struggling to fly with his pain. One last shot from the Bat- NO, it misses! and Talia cackles as she's home-free--
cut to the Selena/Batbike ambush...
yeah, I definitely like my version better.

No offense. I'm glad you didn't pen a batman movie

Alright, go start a fan fiction thread.

I agree. When I heard they cast SF guys, I was stoked to see a Bane vs army fight.
But the SF dude jumps out from the brick wall when he is out numbered and quickly gets mowed down, wtf?
Could've been much more bad arse IMO

I dunno, to me the film just lacked, something...
it was to be the climax of the Batman trilogy, not just the ending. And though he climbed that hole, I just don't feel like he rose high enough (The Dark Knight RISES). Bane whooped his arse fight 1, Batman disabled the mask fight 2, but it took Catwoman to keep him from losing that last fight at the end. Flying gallantly off with the bomb to fake his death at the end is nice and all, but Blake was the guy who rose. And Blake ain't Bruce Wayne, who I want my Batman to be.

I understand why some don't like that. It worked well with me

Just saw it a second time with my wife. It held up even better on the second viewing. Was particularly struck by how it tied in with Begins. So well done!
One thing I was wondering about is where the Batpod went after the stock market chase. Does the bat pod somehow attach to the Bat? It seems unlikely that he just left it there on the street.

I think he put it in the container we later see he and Catwoman go to (when Catwoman rides off on it, Batman tells her "not everything, not yet"). Am I wrong anyone?
