It's so funny that I thought this movie missed a bunch of details after I first watched it
After the second viewing I thought it was incredibly detailed
It looks like I'm not the only one
I'll stop posting tonight by sayin this is so far the best film of the year and I doubt anyone can beat it. It won't win best picture but it should.
Detailed, well conceived and epic in every sense of the word.
Unbelievably great fricking movie
ETA: I didn't realize the first time that Blake was shown to be such a great detective. He finds Gordon because he remembered where that orphan washed up. He finds out that dagger is dead and immediately links it to his hundreds of construction permits and then goes and finds the explosives evidence
So really I no longer have a problem with the "I know you are batman because I eye fricked you when I was 13 part"
Which after second viewing was a very great scene
I still prefer TDK but this one might be the better film

I needed that quote because it described the scene I'm trying to explain
That's the scene I mentioned earlier. When it just shows him flying, sitting in the cockpit and his eyes are going back and forth, left to right.
I didn't even notice the light, I was too busy looking at him thinking, "Well, I guess he's just trying to prepare himself for what's about to go down...."
That Nolan, what a great director.

I still got choked up with Alfred's speech at the Wayne family graves and I knew he was alive.

Me too.
I felt bad for Alfred when he told Bruce about burning the letter too.

He went to Talia not to get help becuase he lost his money, he went to Talia to convince her to take control of the fusion project so that it wouldn't fall into the hands of Daggett. They knew it could be weaponized, and wanted it to be protected.
The equipment was "off the books". Is Talia psychic?
Furthermore, their whole plan was contingent upon Wayne, an extremely distrustful recluse at the time the plan was put in motion, putting his trust in a borderline stranger, whom he had repeatedly spurned in the past, to care for a potential weapon of mass destruction. How is this not an asinine assumption?
Wayne could have just as easily
1. FLOODED the fusion project
2. Filed papers with the SEC
Problem solved.

1. FLOODED the fusion project
quote:And say what? My fingerprints were stolen in an unreported robbery, and my thumbprint was used to authorize my transactions resulting in millions of dollars in losses? As Fox said, it would be difficult to prove. They had more to worry about. Yes, I realize Bane broke into the stock exchange, but Bruce taking the transceiver (don't know if that's the right word) off the laptop that had the data on it got rid of any evidence of what they actually did.
2. Filed papers with the SEC

R&D was "off the table", meaning the defense subsidiaries weren't liable to being absorbed by another company. In no way does that mean that Talia didn't know the location of the armory.

Talia had been the only member of the Wayne Board to authorize funding for the fusion project. He made her aware of its detrimental potential, but the device had enormous promise in that it could have been employed as a clean, continuous source of energy for millions of people.
The reason Wayne became a recluse was because the project didn't pan out and collapsed (Talia mentions this to him at the fundraiser). Wayne invested so much in the device, and believed in its potential, and in Talia as a person.

She's a board member of Wayne enterprises so she probably has enough access seeing as how she's the head of one of the most powerful organizations in the world (tLoS) to figure out where applied sciences is
Not to mention Bruce didn't want to flood the project and he had no choice but to trust her because he KNEW 100% that dagget (a nod to roland dagget of BTAS) had hired bane and brought him to Gotham. Why would he suspect her? He did not want to flood the reactor because of its potential for good he was still trying to protect it and, wrongfully yet reasonably, put his trust in talia
She was his only option and completely free of all suspicion (dagget was the threat)
Really go see this movie again. It is incredible in its attention to detail and if you go to page 4 you'll see I was initially kind of disappointed because I felt there was a lack of detail
And as polar bear said, she might have been a stranger but for YEARS had been a proponent of the project sinking alot of her own money into the project under the successful guise of wanting clean alternative energy
Plus she was a rival of KNOWN bane consort Dagget. Wayne had every reason to trust her.
Plus I love that this plan wasn't concocted in weeks, months or even a year. This had been the plan for almost a decade. And once Pavel published his paper the means to her end presented itself
Damn this movie is GREAT

Where the frick are you pulling this expectation for a "mini tsunami" from, and why would it be deadly at all out at sea?
seriously? you think there's magically no explosion, no massive discharge of force if it happens over water?
surely you've seen video from nuclear tests? the force is mind boggling
I don't think it's a very strong statement to say that being just outside the area of absolute annihilation is still pretty difficult to survive (from just impact force alone)

I think you need to google bikini atoll
You do realize that many ships in the blast radius (Gotham wasn't in blast radius) were not even sunk and there was no tsunami and Im talking about the bomb they detonated under water

Really my SOLE complaint with the film is talia's overwrought death scene and she was really convincing until the moment she expired
Well that and batman taking the time to do the fire bat symbol but that had its use in sending a message to the citizens of Gotham and they needed time anyway before their assault on bane at city hall so this one really isn't a big deal either

Mine is trivial, it's nit picky at best, I said it earlier but maybe you didn't see it.
I could've done without the football stadium scene. All it showed was that there were explosives under the city, in the cement.
Like I said, just a little nit picky thing but something that doesn't really bother me in the least.

I thought that was sweet!
The cinematography was really great. Like when he's standing on top of the bridge with his cape blowing in the wind, cool stuff.
Reminds me of the cartoons I watched as a kid.

I was upset when I saw they were filming at Heinz
But really it presented a great opportunity to
1. Announce gothams takeover to the citizens and the world and as a bonus
2. Kill the mayor. In creating a martial law type Gotham as bane did. Civic leaders and cops need to be clipped on the quick.
If you're a terrorist a football game is a pretty good target

It got me pumped and I imagine it would inspire the citizens of Gotham as well so not a complete waste of time but still time that could be better spent

Very true.
I did say "oh man" when the mayor's clubhouse blew up though.
Ok, gonna go on a tangent for just a sec if I may...... Am I the only one that thought Bane's voice was awesome?
I was trying to tell my mom about it but it was hard to describe. Kinda like a Darth Vader voice but without the breathing sounds.
I thought that was cool as hell. And his pronunciation of everything.....
"You're evil."
A necessary evil.
Bad arse.

No my gf who hated BB and was meh on TDK thought this was the best film she's seen in years and she and I loved bane's menacingly sophisticated Darth vaderesque voice. Not only that but his vocal intonations as well.
The scene where he breaks batman was easily the best in the movie
"mr wayne"
She was glued every time he was on and though ledger still turns in the best performance of the trilogy. Hardy's bane was the only thing that could follow him

I knew it was coming, before it even happened but the way Hardy talked was great.
"I am the League of Shadows." While he's beating the hell out of Batman.
Sucks they don't have that exact voice in the trailers on youtube. It's close but it doesn't have that metallic sound.
Hardy looked bigger in this than he did in Warrior.
