Bane isn't the fricking source. I don't know what else to tell you.

Yeah pretty much. Just one of those things. That and getting the bomb more than six miles away in like 2 minutes kind of irked me but it's a movie.

Why?

It's absurd to think an aircraft can go faster than 200 mph?

Bane is the source unless Robin lies about where the information comes from. if he doesn't lie then there's no explanation for how he knows what he knows. Either way it is hard to believe those cops trapped down there in those conditions would have looked or responded in the ways they did

Like I said, I can overlook the plot hole after acknowledging it was stupid. But I found it impossible not to think it was stupid

I'm not following this bane is the source argument whatsoever because...he's not.

Blake was standing next to Gordon when Bane read the letter. He knows the source.

Eta: it's not a plot hole. You're just confused about a minor detail that doesn't make a difference.

now you have me confused

how could he not be regarded as the source when he went on television to read what he alleged was the commissioner's note? Pretending this was a real terrorist situation for a minute you'd have to assume a lot of skepticism about everything the guy with the detonator has to say.

You are hurting my head. THE SOURCE WAS GORDON THROUGH BLAKE. BANE IS NOT THE SOURCE

Disregard Bane's speech for a moment.

You have a problem with the cops seeing batman and trusting him right? Well, Blake knows Batman didn't kill Dent so all Blake needs to do is explain that Batman is a good guy and the word spreads through the sewer.

They were even in cahoots with the sewer cops formulating plans so they obviously trusted Blake a great deal.

When Bane read Gordon's speech on television, Blake was standing right next to Gordon. Gordon confirmed the truth of it in the resulting conversation.

I was probably the only person chuckling to myself towards the end of the movie because this scene popped in my head. LINK

Chill out.

The whole point was the cops in the sewers looking entirely wrong and behaving entirely wrong for the situation the movie supposedly put them in.

I assume you agree they should have looked filthy, miserable, sick etc instead of relatively sane and clean?

Either way, if they heard anything about Batman they would not have seen it on television. At the very best they would have gotten second hand word about the situation from Robin. Assuming he was honest about the situation it would have seemed questionable because it still came from Bane (and you'd have to be crazy or incredibly gullible to take what that guy said at face value). Maybe there will be an extended cut where they add in scenes with Robin communicating (convincingly and thoroughly) what went on to them - fine. Then they know about Batman they just look entirely wrong, way too healthy, and way too rational for what situation they were put in.

If you want to assume there were parts left out of the movie (mobile toilets, televisions in a sewer, whatever) then fine. But teh movie (at least as it was edited) didn't make sense for how the cops looked, acted, or behaved after being trapped for weeks in a sewer

While I agree that they probably would not shave down there, they were being given plenty of supplies and news as they showed in the movie

my major problem is the cops looking entirely wrong in every way for the sewer situation they were put into.

the minimal "hey its batman!" reaction when they came out of the tunnel is a relatively small thing even though that seems to be what other people are interested in talking about.

Like I said earlier though - I regarded this stuff overall as a small problem that I could overlook after thinking it was pretty stupid.

My biggest wish for the film is that they hadn't chickened out and had allowed Batman to die sacrificing himself for others - that would have been the perfect ending

Yeah that was really lame and I'm still contemplating just pretending that was Alfred seeing what he wanted to see.

I agree that Batman should have died then Michael Caine should've had a monologue about how Batman isn't just Bruce Wayne; he becomes "more than just a man, a legend"... he's a symbol for good and the legend doesn't actually end but is merely beginning...when Bruce dies, Batman becomes that legend that lives on.
