nolan must have the worst sound editor. there were people with no accents and nothing blocking their mouths and you could still barely make out what they said at times. its not enough to ruin the film, like some critics say. but cmon, this isnt your first rodeo. lower the background. i get you love epic noises, but id like to follow the conversation.
i think the back thing gets brought up a lot because of the beginning. okay, so maybe his back wasnt broken (cant help but think it after reading the comics). but they emphasized and emphasized how badly his body was broken and he had 8 years to recover. he just comes back super easily and stronger in 5 months.

Yeah, I can understand some of the broken back confusion, because they recreated the Knightfall comic cover exactly.
But they stated otherwise in the film, and he never suggested having a brojen back

You are flirting with a thin arse line when you are trying to make a distinction between a dream and hallucination.

The Scarecrow cameo was awful and kind of felt campy. His cameo in TDK was great. I was expecting to see him once the inmates escaped but the way they handled it was kind of goofy. What were the specifics of his will (again bad sound). I'm glad you brought up his sound editor. I didn't know if it was just my theater.
BTW, has Nolan ever revealed what his plans for the sequel would have been had Heath never died? The movie would have been that much better with him. If anything, it would just be nice to see the Joker's thoughts on Bane.
I loved that Batman finally broke his one rule not to kill with Tahlia but I wish they would have brought that up.

I heard it fine....
"While the will was not revised to reflect the destitute state of the estate, there are still considerable assets to be considered.
All assets and contents of the manor go to Alfred Pennyworth, minus what needs to be possessed by creditors.
The manor goes to the city of Gotham, with the conditions that it never be destroyed or modified from its present state, and it's only use is to be to house orphaned and troubled children."
*Obviously heavily paraphrased

A three way battle royale between the League of Shadows, Batman, and the Joker, would have made me jizz my pants at least twice a minute.

One thing that I don't think has been brought up and which is bugging me more as time goes on: How did Thalia trigger the flood sequence?

The advanced knee brace wasn't a big deal to me considering the movie is technically based in the future.

i dont like the non-explanation of bruce being so fricked up at the start. i get it, he was batman and it hurt him. but he took 8 years off!
This really bothered me the entire movie. I was waiting for the first 30 minutes for an explanation, and none really came.
The two other things that bothered me were Bruce appearing in Florence and him sleeping with what turned out to be Tahlia (who was always the hottest chick in the comics). He's the godam Batman, he doesn't emotion! This ain't even Bruce being a billionaire playboy, it's him being a loser.

I thought it was great, but I think the second one
was better.
I had no problem understanding Bane or any of the other dialogue.
I didn't like how Bane died.

Wow, that is scary wrong. Bruce is about as emo a superhero as they come.

Then why did it include a shot of the unfinished World Trade Center?

I just assumed he messed up his knee from his nasty fall with Dent. He was limping pretty bad after that.

Batman obviously wasn't needed. Nolan presented his version of Batman as a symbol, someone who was just doing this long enough to shake people out of apathy and remove criminality and corruption from the streets of Gotham. After the passage of the Harvey Dent Act, Batman wasn't needed anymore. There were no super villains to take on, there was no organized crime, all that was left were the small-time criminals who snatch purses and the like. Obviously the police can handle crooks like that without the assistance of Batman.
Bruce was also still obviously torn up by Rachel's death and that, combined with the fact that his mind needed Batman but the city did not, kind of drove him into isolation and seclusion. I understood his reasons just fine without needing them spelled out for me.

Last I checked, The Dark Knight Rises is set in a fictional city called Gotham....not New York.

That was still no question the WTC just as it was the Statue of Liberty in Batman Forever. What did the lady say about Robin at the end?
Posted on 7/20/12 at 7:21 pm to JabarkusRussell
That he should go by that name (Robin) because she thought it was a nice name
