I just came back from it. It was pretty awesome. I got teary eyed a few times but was pumped up most of the movie.
A few things I'm confused about:
1. One minute Bruce is riding in the car with Dick and the next minute he is running out of a taxi with Talia at his home. Then they start bumping ugly's. Did I miss a scene or something or was this just bad editing?
2. What actually caused Bruce to be injured in the first place at the beginning of the movie? Was it the fall at the end of the The Dark Knight?
3. How the hell did Bruce survive a broken back? When you break your back, putting a single vertebrae back in place isn't the cure. Was this just movie magic?
Other than these three confusing things, I thought this movie was pretty badass.

He does limp/run back to the bat pod at the end

Yeah pretty much. Just one of those things. That and getting the bomb more than six miles away in like 2 minutes kind of irked me but it's a movie.

I was expecting one hell of a tsunami

1) he got to the manor and was locked out. She had been there knocking on the door.
2) its just the toll it took on his body being Batman. Remember all the ailments the doctor (Dangle) said?
3) going by Bane's history, you'd assume he broke his back and that would be movie magic. Or you could say he only displaced one vertebrae. Who knows. But remember, from the time he leaves Bruce there to when he escapes and comes back, nearly 5 months time has passed.

5 months has passed and that is enough time for the bone to heal.
I fractured a veretebrae (granted I had spinal fusion surgery) and was in a back brace for 3 months; I started running and lifting again at 6 months so it isn't entirely unbelievable.

Here's one:
If they wanted to vaporize Gotham so bad then why didn't they just blow the bomb as soon as they got it?

Loved the movie on the balance. All of the main characters did a great job with their parts.
I do think this could have gone from a great movie to an all time great movie if they removed the "batman really escaped" part at the end. The weakest part of most superhero movies is the characters regularly defying death and never actually die. Batman is supposed to be a noble but dark and conflicted character - for him to actually sacrifice himself in that manner would have been the perfect ending to the trilogy.
I had a couple plot issues I'm sure I could get into briefly if other people haven't already such as:
1) The hookup with Miranda Tate seemed relatively implausible and pointless except as a device to misdirect the audience from suspecting her.
2) The cops in the sewers were in pretty good shape for having been trapped for weeks without running water, clean clothes etc. They were also pretty much unphased by the appearance of Batman to greet them exiting the tunnels... which was weird since they shouldn't have heard about the him not being the villain? At best they would have gotten second hand word that Bane said that Harvey Dent was really not a hero and Batman took the blame for him. A lack of suspicion regarding what Bane had to say was pretty weird in those circumstances.
3) The injury to his back was fairly stupid overall - the guy who alleged medical expertise diagnosed a displaced vertebrae (not disk, vertebrae) and then fixed it by punching it back into place and then suspending him like a cat picked up out of a bathtub. Let's set that (and the jump on the climb out of the pit) as silly and just move on. I wish they just had Bane kick his arse the first time and break a leg or something instead
4) The whole decaying fusion reactor with a timeline of months and predictable explosion within seconds was also insultingly stupid but useful as a plot device so we shouldn't think hard about that one either
Keep in mind those four plot loopholes I mentioned are relatively minor things that didn't overly affect my enjoyment of the movie - I didn't have any real trouble ignoring those problems even though I wished they had been done differently

Bane explained it as wanting to punish Batman I think, but I agree that the motivations for waiting to blow it may be nonsensical.
I'd have to see the movie again (tomorrow
). I didn't have a huge problem with it though just because I know nothing is perfect, and it is a summer blockbuster type film after all.

I think the biggest thing for me is that the previous 2 movies for the most part avoided these kinds of issues.

Apparently he missed those parts where he was dropping notes to his partner in the sewer.

The cops' uniforms definitely should've been in much worse condition IMO; lots of beards to be seen too.

no I didn't - that's why I mentioned the second hand word of what they might have heard that Bane said.
but like I posted earlier it would have been second hand information at best given from a highly questionable source (Bane)

Blake was giving them handwritten notes

Blake was handwriting notes and giving them to the cops

how does that refute anything I just wrote?
can you imagine a group of several thousand police officers in a urine and feces filled tunnel being convinced of a long standing belief (Batman bad, Harvey Dent good) via a semi-anonymous note with Bane as the source?
Posted on 7/20/12 at 5:12 pm to molsusports
Bane isn't the source, Blake is. That's the point.

I was probably the only person chuckling to myself towards the end of the movie because this scene popped in my head.

so you think Blake lied to him? that he would have said "I just know Batman is a good guy" and that would overwhelm the skepticism and long-standing beliefs of a few thousand men trapped for weeks in extremely unsanitary conditions?
those cops would have been sick, scared, disgusted, disgusting, pissed off, irrational, and not likely to believe anything using Bane as the ultimate source.
