but I am not sure how exactly they could have made it into two movies.
they obviously shot enough for 3 hours worth of screen time
Hire and employ an actual editor, someone who has some rudimentary understanding of story and plot development
move forward in a methodical direction, expanding the scenes' runtime into something more coherent. End part 1 either with the Senate wheelchair bomb explosion or right before as a cliffhanger
Part 2 carries on from there till the end.
Edit and finish both movies simultaneously, release them each less than a month apart, an unprecedented move, one that makes them a ton of money, forcing the hand of movie goers to go see 1 movie for the price of 2. You increase your PR and ad spend from 1x to 1.3x since it's just a protracted version of the same campaign.
everyone wins

Does the article take into account Sunday is Easter and it's a low movie day? Or is the article about it's dropping off due to it being a bad movie?
The article is about it having the worst drop off for superhero movies only. He didn't compare it to other franchises or blockbusters, to superhero movies only.
None of the other superhero movies had a March opening.

I liked it...thought it was a solid movie...if not one of the better superhero movies.

If it follows Furious 7, it will kill it internationally. It had a massive international haul so far. I think it easily crosses 1 billion, and probably gets to 1.3 billion. I bet by the end next weekend it is looking at 680-730 million total

Second, the studio may face headwinds in its strategy for Batman v Superman to launch a new spate of sequels, spinoffs, and inter-connected franchises that will serve as a reliable anchor for Warner Bros’ movie slates for years to come. The studio’s management has elected to hire the same creative team that made Batman v Superman to oversee the franchise’s future pictures.

It may be a better movie after the foreign translations are added.

I'm not a numbers person, but I did raise an eyebrow while reading it. As someone commented:
---------------------------------------------------
Did BvS have the largest Friday to Sunday decline ever for a Superhero movie? Yes, that is factually accurate.
But what you failed to take into account or explain is the opening Friday – GOOD FRIDAY – which naturally inflates the box office totals for both Thursday night and Friday itself. So when comparing that inflated total to the Sunday, of course it has the largest decline! In fact, on average Good Friday has out grossed the following Saturday by about 5% (even after removing the Thursday night preview grosses). No other opening weekend in your chart has that same altered weekend pattern.
If you want a more apt comparison, use Furious 7, which opened on Easter weekend last year, you’ll find the numbers are pretty close.

Omg the rest of the franchise will suck sans the Ben Affleck Batman franchise

These comparisons to Furious 7 may work for the dates, but let's look at a couple of other factors.
Rotten Tomatoes:
Furious 7 - 81% (with 223 votes)
BvS - 29% (with 273 votes)
What does this say about its sustainability to keep up with Furious 7's figures? Especially when you consider...
Furious 7 had some real life feels attached to it. The death of Paul Walker, his brother stepping in for him to finish the movie, the tribute at the end, the radio having Til I See You Again on 3 stations at once. This is the total opposite of people being sentimental over their childhood heroes and hearing word of mouth from other fans that this movie is terrible.

I'm not a big believer of RT. But I definitely understand your other points. Many have used the same argument for the success of TDK.

Has anyone watched the clip Warner Brothers dropped today? It's a deleted scene showing Lex Luthor having a vision of a demon like villain.
Edit: here's the link to the deleted scene
LINK
Seeing that scene now, it makes sense why at the end lex said he's coming. Also explains why he was so obsessed with that painting. In the painting he said demons come from the sky now and in that clip the creature looked like a demon or the devil.
Also rumors are its steppenwolf or someone related to darkseid.

Not only that, Furious 7 is constructed as an "international" film. There's globe trotting, international actors (playing international people rather than Americans). It's way different.
But I still think BvS can hit a billion. I just don't see it going much beyond that.1.1 maybe.

Two more sources with less disparity and even a positive 4* rating on IMDB. Although Reddit seems to have identified some fake accounts voting 10/10, and ign doesn't think it's legit either.

I think it makes around 800-900 mil. I still think they make JL 1, though. They just cut the budget back considerably. What a disaster considering the potential of this movie.

Everyone has been predicting doom for this movie since the start. As soon as it has one bad day, we'll get the "AH HA! I told you so" posts.
Prepare yourself for the "Warner panics as BvS takes three more weeks than Avengers to reach a billion in ticket sales" articles.

I think we're beyond that already, as well. I'm not feeling the need to say "I told you so" because I honestly feel bad for guys like you and Abell who deserve better. Did OML go postal and get the ban hammer?

Yeah that was surprising, you could tell he was even holding back a bit/
Must have sucked to be among the audience members who hadn't seen it yet because they pretty much talked about the death of superman

There would be articles if it hit $1 billion faster than Ultron. People will write an article about everything. It's not just "this movie."
