As you say, I said it's possible. Makes for conversations and whatnot...........

It just makes way more sense than what we saw I mean I like conversations and all but when someone can come up with something that makes more sense thematically than what we got in a movie of this scale, it's just crazy.

Yup. What many consider the greatest film of all time is built around this one symbolism. Makes the audience think, use a little brain power.

But I can understand some don't want too much of this in superhero movies. Some want popcorn and some want to watch the popcorn burn..........

I guess what I'm getting at is the existence of alternate timelines and such. They are grabbing from all over the place here.

IMO: They are missing the boat by not utilizing the TV shows more. I can understand the want to keep them separate, but..................

Agree 100% with this. From the day it was announced there would be a Batman/Superman movie. It just got crazy.

Literally saw a dead bat outside of the movie theater exit doors immediately after watching this movie. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

Well, make sure your parents don't walk home from the movies. Tell them to call Uber.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. It was by no means a great movie or cinematic masterpiece, but I still really enjoyed it. I am admittedly fairly easy to please when it comes to movies.

1. Eisenberg sucked as Lex.

2. They tried to pack too much in to one movie, but I am not sure how exactly they could have made it into two movies.

3. The Bat suit looked ridiculous at times, and awesome at other times.

4. I was pleasantly surprised by Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Leave Lex as a secondary character in the first one. Maybe have some small speculation that he's pulling strings. Have a cameo by Wonder Woman. Put the focus on Batman and Superman characterization. Maybe have more than a 30 second montage of Superman saving people. Do more to establish Clark an Lois' relationship. You have the senate hearings and the stuff from MoS that is still unresolved. End with Batman and Superman throwing down.

Bring in Lex as a primary character in the second. Focus on him stealing Kryptonian technology and using it against Superman. Maybe have some actual cameos from Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. Maybe focus on more story as to why Batman and Superman are working together now? End with the Trinity/Doomsday throw down and death of Superman.

That was about a couple of minutes of thought. I'm sure there are better things to do, I guess.

From Forbes....

quote:

"Batman v Superman has set a new record for the worst Friday-to-Sunday drop for a superhero movie release in modern North American box office history. In dropping 55% from its $82 million Friday debut to its $37 million gross on Sunday, it pummeled all prior records for weakness in theatrical staying power. It even beat the nearly universally reviled and now long-forgotten Fantastic Four reboot, which dropped a comparatively modest 48% across its opening weekend in the summer of 2015."

I'm expecting a 70% drop at the box office this weekend.

Furious 7 had a similar Friday to Sunday drop last Easter.

I hope you're right, I don't wish failure on them. I'm just seeing way too much negativity with this film. Even I've been surprised by the reaction from friends, family, and coworkers. They've all hated the film.

Easter.
I was going to say. Easter is not a "go to the movies" holiday. It's hard to tell anything from those numbers.

You might be thinking that Sunday was the Easter holiday, which could account for the big Sunday drop. But that still wouldn’t explain the Friday-to-Saturday decline of 38%, which was the second worst opening Friday-to-Saturday drop in the annals of superhero releases, after a 40% dip for The Dark Knight Rises.

As the chart below indicates, superhero movies that don’t hold up well over their first weekend tend not to sustain much energy at the box office over the longer course of their theatrical runs (as indicated by the “Opening Weekend Multiplier.”) The correlations aren’t perfect, but as things stand on Monday morning, Batman v Superman‘s soft Friday-to Sunday hold suggests a final domestic box office gross closer to the $409 million earned by Iron Man 3 than the $623 million earned by Marvel’s The Avengers.

Does the article take into account Sunday is Easter and it's a low movie day? Or is the article about it's dropping off due to it being a bad movie?

There's been no consistency with the reactions to this film. It's all over the map. My wife of all people thought it was good and she HATES superhero movies. It's bizarre.
