I get the race stuff when it's set on Earth. Star Wars has non-human aliens. What difference does it make what color the humans are?

I don't care that she's black. I am skeptical of Hollywood actually portraying a black female as an actual villain beholden to Vader at the height of his insanity.
ETA: If she actually finds Obi-Wan, she either has to turn good or has to die, because Vader isn't supposed to know where he is at the start of the OT. Hopefully she ends up dying, because that would make more sense.
