Just finished the first episode. This is absolutely awful so far. The writing and delivery is almost laughable at times.

Par for the course for Disney's Star Wars content though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Hopefully the later episodes improve.

Edit - Episode 2 wasn't much better. The chase scenes in this show are truly laughable. The acting is bad. The writing is bad.

McGregor is the only good thing about this show so far. But it feels cheap.

Watched the first episode, it was ok. I would like to side bar here and discuss the presence of legendary bass player Flea popping up randomly for the past 30 years in various movies and tv shows. I spent the last 10 minutes of the episode debating with myself as to whether it was him or not. Take a look at this guys screen credits, pretty wild.

he reasoning behind the kidnapping defies belief also. Why would anyone assume that kidnapping a random senator's kid would cause Obi-Wan to come running? I'd assume the exact opposite. The Galactic Senate turned against the Jedi. I know they had to get him off the planet, but surely they could have come up with a better reasons than that...

Reva explained that. She found that Organa and ObiWan were friends in the archives.

It's still a bit of a stretch, but I am willing to look past this for the sake of the show

Lots of cringey moments ("Obiiii Wannnnn"), and some of the acting is abysmal. But, it's a pretty bad arse storyline and the fact that we get Obi-Wan and Vader potentially seeing each other again is worth the watch alone. I'll stick with it.

Outside of Reva’s actor I don’t really buy this. Everyone, including Ewan, has been either solid or really great except for Reva’s character. Even the little girl was solid

Right. Her explanation is what I'm talking about. It makes no sense. Why would anyone assume that taking an Imperial Senator's kid would bring out a Jedi? Even knowing the history between the two, it still doesn't make sense.

blame the story telling. She shows up and she's just supposed to immediately be some badass in her first time on screen. No female is going to be able to pull that off bc they don't have the physicality to project that on screen. So she has to over act.

Gina Carano, who they fired pulled it off, this girl doesn't.
I'm excited about where the series can go from this point. I'll give the first two episodes a combined 6.5 out of 10

The woods chase scene was awful

Just watched this scene, and wow. They could have cut that entire sequence, and it actually would have improved the show. Episode was 50 minutes long, so I don't understand how they came to the conclusion that needed to be kept.

10 yr old girl almost running away from grown adults... that felt like it was "Disney" to me. Not going to throw that stone at Kennedy, felt like a mandate to have something along those lines from the D Mothership.
It wasn't as cute as Grogu, and not as believable as Omega in The Bad Batch (but that was animated, so I think that's some of the reason Omega worked better).

They seem to have a decent idea on how to keep this TV-14; refugee Jedi dies off-screen. Barely see the Aldaraan guard get shot; but we do see it. Kenobi shoots lizard alien and a droid, not humans. They're giving us the violence and seriousness, but keeping it sanitized.

I thought 3rd Sister was gonna kill her henchmen in the Spice, and "Jedi" scam artist when he got in her way. Guess it makes no difference either way in the story, and that leaves more room to get 'rough' in other scenes.
Did the other Inquisitor kill the henchman? Again, we get that sense, but they cut away.

Only dumb part so far, why did they let the Jedi escape early on? They had him. They fricking had him. Maybe she overstepped in luring him out, but you don't let your prey go to make that point, you give her the lecture on the ship afterwards.

Otherwise, very solid show, I'm enjoying it a lot more than I feared. Jimmy Smits looks old, but otherwise this looks great.

We saw the clearest depiction of a hand getting chopped off in all of Star Wars.

That, plus we also already knew that Kumail Nanjiani has a relatively large role in this.

Because we (the audience) know the relation between the two characters

I mean...outside of the third sister, it's fairly decent. And surely we've all come to realize at this point that critics definitely aren't going to be knocking a "strong black female" character. I don't find it shocking at all for this to be sitting at 91%.

Like the story and the concept, but the acting is really bad, and the Reva character is so forced, and bad. The Mandolorian was just a fluke I guess…

That was a stretch and what about the way Leia figures out she was kidnapped just to lure Obi-Wan out. Are you kidding me?

not pleased that an Inquisitor knows Vader is Anakin,

I’m sure they’ll explain that part. I’m positive she’ll be the only one who knows that and will likely die with that information. She was probably at the temple during the Order 66 and saw him killing Jedi.

Remember, there are supposed to be scenes of Hayden de-aged. Wouldn’t be surprised if it shows Anakin and Palpatine at the temple with her watching and Palps calling him Lord Vader.
That would make some sense, both how she knows who Vader is and why we had the Temple scene to start the show.

Are they going to make Reva the new Star Wars version of Gamorra?

Good. Throw her off a cliff to make Vader more powerful.

I really really hope the duels between Vader and Obi Wan are worthwhile.
