Also, they are a million percent planting the seeds for why Leia names her son Ben.

Nice. I didn't think of that.

All I was thinking of was how cool this whole show is based off the one line "Help us, Obi-wan, you're our only hope" and exploring how Leia came to that conclusion considering Leia never had any scenes with Ben in the OG trilogy.

And I thought this series would be about protecting Luke.

She still doesn’t know his last name in the show man it was very pointed that he only said Ben and not Ben Kenobi or Obi Wan or Obi Wan Kenobi.

All she knows is that his name is Ben, he’s a Jedi and that he knows Bail. Leia knows Bail served in the Clone Wars as a senator and knows he was probably around and befriended a number of Jedi during that time. Hell, she doesn’t even know he’s from Tatooine either.

Relax baw.

My point was that he could've said his name was Kenobi and it wouldn't have affected canon.

Full Disclosure: My parents first night out after I was born was to see Star Wars in 1977 so I grew up around it...merchandising and all. Saw all three prequels on day one (even bought the shitty podracing game on my way home from Episode 1) and VII-IX Day one on IMAX/IMAX 3D. I watched Rogue One in the theater and bought the Solo steelbook but it has sat unopened on my shelf since release day. I have not watched any of the series and refuse to watch the Mandalorian after what they did to Gina Carano. I do have the large 12" Baby Yoda Funko on display. (A weakness I have for anything Yoda.)

Was that Flea? That guy was cringe too.

Yes, and the credits lso listed his green mercenary partner as the same stunt woman who played the badass Tusken warrior in the Boba series, although they didn't take advantage of her fighting skills in these two episodes.

Ewan is acting his arse off. He’s killing it in nearly every scene he’s in

He really is good. It'll be nice to see his arc from rusty Jedi back to badass Jedi.

I'm also hoping once his Jedi frequency is finely tuned, he facetimes a ghostly vision of Liam/Qui-Gon, something we never got to see.

He seems like a hollow shell of himself. Understand the guy watched the republic he was supposed to guard fall, saw his friends and colleagues all get murdered and believed he killed his best friend.

You can see he’s still tortured by everything in the dream sequence in episode 1. He’s trying to forget and block everything out, which was what he told the other jedi who found him.

Has Alderaan ever been shown in the prequels? I feel like this was the first time ever seeing it. It was beautiful and it looked so ... peaceful.

When Ben said Leia reminded him of someone ("a leader") was he talking about her mom Padme' or his ex-gf Satine, ruler of Mandalore?

Totally miscast. Absolutely no menacing vibe conveyed no matter how hard or how often she tried.

Her face & voice actually fit a character that might be on comedy sitcom. Maybe that's on purpose (?) and she ends up a good guy later on (?) still I'm not buying it.

EDIT: yep, just rewatched the opening Order 66 scene and the very first person shown in the entire series is the young jedi trainee who is a little black girl. I'll bet Reva has a Ben Solo-ish good to bad to good again arc.

Loved the first two episodes. Particularly seeing Vader. Really interested to see what the deal is behind “The Grand Inquisitor.”

Personally, I don’t think that was the Rebels Grand Inquisitor. Not just because of what Reva did to him, but because he is critical of her being a former Jedi. The Rebels Grand Inquisitor was also a former Jedi, so it seems weird that he would be critical of that with her when he has the same problem.

Are you that simple minded? He's not dead! 3rd sister is awful though.

I have a theory that in reality Kathleen Kennedy hates women and minorities. Follow me on this. She cast them in roles with forced prominence and allows them to be written in ways that fans will absolutely hate them , which them begets overflow to the actors or actresses being attacked in real life. But she gets her diversity badge and know one is the wiser. Its a trend in everything she's evolved with.

I 100% agree that Gina is entitled to whatever opinions she has! But its a 2 way street. If you owned a company and had an employee that was spouting out something that you felt right or wrong could affect you business and were receiving massive customer complaints because of it. You're going to move on from said employee. Weather you agree with them or not that's business. It happens everyday. Gina chose that her beliefs were more important to her than the 7 figures that Disney was paying her. 100% her choice and I respect her for that.
