There was never anything low budget in the originals... wait...

Yeah bc Mace Windu is such a hated character. People even liked Finn and wanted him to be a jedi. But instead you stuck him running around with some fat useless broad and made him just another soldier.
And Billy Dee as Lando was awesome. Hire a good actor and write them well and no one cares what their demographics are.

I am not sure I fully understand all the hate for the Reva character.
Anakin Skywalker's character in Episode II and II was far worse.
Honestly, the Grand Inquisitor looking like a human male with white facepaint is more offensive to me.
There's also some inconsistency regarding why the Third Sister has a name (Reva) and the others do not.
I also think "Force" mind reading is a bad plot device, but that was introduced in TFA.

I know we are only 2 episodes in, but I expected more. I'm not sure why since Disney is still involved.
I'll give it a couple more episodes but if it stays how it is now I won't finish the season.

But it feels cheap.
Agreed, you can't really put a finger on it, but you can sense it. Almost like a Netflix production. With the money Disney pumps into the IP, there is no excuse for it to seem to shoddy.

The writing, acting, and execution of the character in this series is terrible so far. She’s extremely overpowered and just feels out of place.
Not to mention the overall series has felt like a bait and switch so far. People tuned in for Obi-Wan, Dath Vader, and the Grand Inquisitor and instead we’ve gotten the Reva and Baby Leia show.
Expectations subverted!

They shoehorned in the black female main character because nobody would watch a Reva show. They had to prop her up on Obi-Wan and Vader’s backs

Return of the Jedi was the first I remember. Vader read Luke's mind to find out about Leia being his twin sister. TFA took it to a whole other level, but the ground work was laid in 1983.

Seems to me it should only be the most powerful force users who have that ability

You mean Kathleen Kennedy made a show for a male audience a feminist fantasy? That's the KK signature move.
TAKE THAT NERDS!!!

Struggled to get through the first episode and moved on to Stranger Things season 4 which is infinitely better. Maybe I'll come back to this later......

One of my biggest annoyances with the sequel trilogies. It cheapens things when pretty much any force-sensitive person can do everything the most powerful force users ever can do.

I don’t mind the character at all. She was written and voice acted well in the Jedi: Fallen Order video game.
The Inquisitor in Jedi: Fallen Order isn't Reva/Third Sister. That Was Trilla Suduri/Second Sister. Two different characters.

The woke shite would workout if they simply had competent actors and a coherent story line. Yet this never seems to happen and then inevitably the corporate marketing and PR machine trots out the usual rebuttals to their garbage products. It's all so tiresome.

My mistake, I edited. I enjoyed that character though.
