Of course it was

Deborah Chow is a good director. Despite this board and Star Wars fans’ bitchiness about this series and Disney, it’s off to a good start.

Yeah except for the acting by the third sister and the little girl.

The third sister is a goddamn cringe machine. Aside from her the first two episodes were great. Can't expect a ton from a child actor so Leia gets a pass.

The gang chasing Leia in the woods was the cringiest shite I've ever seen.

Other than that, I had fun with the two episodes.

Yeah she is. And it's shite story telling of these new characters.

I agree it's hard to expect too much from a child actor. But that's why the director shouldn't give her so much screen time. You have a real movie star in Ewan McGregor and when it's him on screen it's pretty good. But then they have to squeeze in all the cringe.

Was that Flea? That guy was cringe too.

That was like Power Rangers level production. It was as campy as anything from the prequels.

So the Grand Inquisitor in Kenobi is different than the one in rebels. That doesnt jive with rebels or comic cannon.

He either survived the stabbing or is a different but similar looking grand inquisitor explaining why he is not Utapauan in appearance.

My thoughts as well. Everything with Ewan in it is money. Reva is just OK. That actor was a lot better in the second episode. She over acted her arse off in the first one. Outside of that, that was a VERY enjoyable two episodes. Really enjoyed Leia and Obi WAN’s dynamic together.

Haven't seen Rebels... my son has.

This is a solid show. My son is currently discussing the old 501st soldier Kenobi dropped some coin onto. He's not pleased that an Inquisitor knows Vader is Anakin, but otherwise we're both liking this.

I blame the story telling. She shows up and she's just supposed to immediately be some badass in her first time on screen. No female is going to be able to pull that off bc they don't have the physicality to project that on screen. So she has to over act.

The whole thing seems too forced, no pun intended.

They def toyed with my emotions with him holding his lightsaber. Totally thought he was about to 2v1 Reva and GI. They are definitely saving that first draw of his lightsaber for Vader and it’s going to be EPIC.

Ewan is acting his arse off. He’s killing it in nearly every scene he’s in

I’m sure they’ll explain that part. I’m positive she’ll be the only one who knows that and will likely die with that information. She was probably at the temple during the Order 66 and saw him killing Jedi.

Remember, there are supposed to be scenes of Hayden de-aged. Wouldn’t be surprised if it shows Anakin and Palpatine at the temple with her watching and Palps calling him Lord Vader.

Deborah Chow has gone on record saying she took the canon with the utmost respect. Hence why Leia still doesn’t know Ben is actually Obi Wan Kenobi. He never revealed either name to her. If people want to bitch about the show, they just want to bitch. The only negative so far has been Reva and she hasn’t even been in it that much. It’s a good show so far.

I loved the first two episode and I loved even more that most of the scenes from the trailers were from these two. Rupert was doing his best Jason Isaacs impression so I don’t believe he was a different GI. Hopefully he survives.

I’m almost positive he survives. It was just a shot to the liver not like the chest death blow that got Qui Gon

Tactically, really shouldn't have even been an option... this is Kenobi you're after. Even a turned Jedi (hell, ESPECIALLY one of them) would know better than to try to fence with Obi-Wan, even with a trusted partner- which wasn't the case.
Just too much of a risk against a known master. You box him in and surround the place with disposable stormtroopers, and take him down with numbers. You lose half your troops maybe, but you get him.

I’m curious if Obi Wan was hesitant because he just wanted to get out of there without getting into a long fight and draw more attention to himself than he already had or because he doesn’t have faith in himself to take out a lowly Inquisitor.

I’m leaning towards the former since he basically dismantles Maul with the quickness when he’s 10 years older in Rebels

But Leia knows that there is a Ben Kenobi in A New Hope.

Also, they are a million percent planting the seeds for why Leia names her son Ben.

She still doesn’t know his last name in the show man it was very pointed that he only said Ben and not Ben Kenobi or Obi Wan or Obi Wan Kenobi.

All she knows is that his name is Ben, he’s a Jedi and that he knows Bail. Leia knows Bail served in the Clone Wars as a senator and knows he was probably around and befriended a number of Jedi during that time. Hell, she doesn’t even know he’s from Tatooine either.

I really hope that don't drive this franchise into the ground. The spinoffs to emulate the Marvel Universe (damn it hurts just to type that term) in theaters were one thing but how many Disneyfied series is this so far? For a guy who was so protective of the franchise for decades, Lucas has now become a real life version of Palpatine on steroids.

** Full Disclosure: My parents first night out after I was born was to see Star Wars in 1977 so I grew up around it...merchandising and all. Saw all three prequels on day one (even bought the shitty podracing game on my way home from Episode 1) and VII-IX Day one on IMAX/IMAX 3D. I watched Rogue One in the theater and bought the Solo steelbook but it has sat unopened on my shelf since release day. I have not watched any of the series and refuse to watch the Mandalorian after what they did to Gina Carano. I do have the large 12" Baby Yoda Funko on display. (For Yoda, a weakness I have.)
